I finally played my first match. Bruno, the frenchman known as RatoonSoft, was my first oponnent. We played Intermediate and nobody ever demanded anything about the scheme. It was all ok for both of us. 7 worms on each side and so the game begins. The game started off with some mistakes by Bruno. I took advantage of those mistakes and made my way to victory on first round. On second round, same story. Bruno told me he hadn't been playing for a while, which explains the mistakes he did. Anyway, several times during the match Bruno enhanced the point of playing Worms: more than being playing to win we are playing to have fun. Thumbs up for Bruno. I'm sorry this loss took you out of the playoffs... Crespo

This isnt a review but some observations from my Match with Voodoo. We started Ages ago and he asked to play Pro...My 1st BIG mistak LMAO anyway we got to a tied game and he got dissconnected so the game was postponed (he was kinda winning at that stage in wepons but not health) anyway we finally got to play the final round and once again he got DC, this time I had 4 worms to his 1 so I was pretty pissed, anyway we played again and he beat me this time so kudos to you Voodoo...goodluck getting another poor sap to play pro LOL.....this would have to be the most controversial game I have played.

Here's the review of my second CWT match: DustedTrooper was my oponnent. This was our first match ever, so it was a new worming experience for both of us. I tried to host the session but Jake couldn't join, then he tried and I couldn't join. Then we found our savior, Bytor. He hosted for us. I once heard that DustedTrooper was a good wormer, therefore, you should imagine me as kinda' nervous as the game started. On round 1 Jake went first and didn't gave me any chance at all. Although I didn't make any brilliant moves I dare not to say that I could've won this round. It was Jake's round. On round 2 we got one hard map: one of those cave type maps where there is very little distance between the ground and the murky depths, having a big bridge on the middle of screen (forgot to turn HyperSnap on), basically one of those maps where one bad move can decide wether you win or loose the game. If the pressure was high on round 1, imagine with a 0-1 score in one of those maps... I didn't fail to myself here as I managed to make some very nice moves, such as double kills and nice rope knockings, although in the end it came to a 1 vs 1 worm situation with darksiding from both sides. When the round was over the pressure kept rising, of course. My head was boiling by this time... On round 3, Jake went first. He started well but we came to a certain time where I had about 2 or 3 worms near a hole to the water and Jake wasted 2 or 3 turns trying to kill those worms, with no success (he acidentally suicided 1 of his attacking worms), which allowed me to take advantage. When the crisis situation on that point of the map was over, I had the control over the entire map and I felt my nerves disapearing cuz' it was going for me now. When reduced to 1 worm, Jake tried to darkside but I got my heavy artillery at him with no holdings barred. In the end, I saluted Jake for an incredibly intense match of Worms, and asked Jake to stick around (visiting the tournament site and the Message Board) cuz' future CWTs and Elite leagues are to be expected and our comunity always need wormers like him. Now, with 2 wins, I can say I will be at the playoff, which means that the first goal was achieved. Now, it's one for first place in the group against HHC. The demented host, Crespo

Great drama. Hopefully, the group stage next year will be even better, with more above-average normal-wormers. Incidentally, if we don't attract many more such people, I think Crespo should consider a 6 group system, in which the top 2 from every group go through, aswell as the best 4 third-place wormers.

Hi there, Well I just finished my group stage a few minutes ago. I played with HHC in a game where the goddess of luck was on my side. There were many moves, decisive moves, where the luck shined upon me, specially on the second round. 15 minutes past the apointment hour, I found HHC on Messenger. We got ourselves onto AG a.s.a.p. with a spectator behind us. Lo español, Javito, wanted to watch the match. After we decided the usual details of the game (scheme and number of worms) we started an amazing round. It was a balistic round: on each turn at least 1 worm from the opponent should have died. On Bart's first turn (I was first to move) he wiped out 3 of my worms with one dynamite! The best move of the entire game... As a response I made a double kill move. Anyway, I would like to point out the first lucky move I had: 2 of my worms were together, one with ±56 and the other slightly stronger, and Bart launches an Homing Pigeon at them. The strongest got away with ±27 and the weakest got away with 1! I could only release a huge smile when I saw that hapening cuz' it was that worm who gave me advantage in the closing part of the round. On second round Bart went first and started doing his job. Although I didn't react very well on Bart's attacks early on the round, I kinda' reanimated with the help of the goddess of luck. One of the luckiest moments was when I had a worm with 29 on the open field and an airstrike is dropped. She's dead... NOT!! She amazingly survived with the health of a digit and carried on with my attacks. Anyway we came to a certain point where I had 3 worms and Bart had 2. He kamikaze'd and wasted 2 of mine. It was a 1x1 situation. My worm was crippled and Bart's was still untouchable by the time having 100. Having wasted all my ropes and jetpacks I couldn't flee from my spot in a little hole but to open field so I launched my super-sheep at Bart's risking it all on making my worm on the range of a napalm strike. And right when I flied the sheep above Bart's worm I picked this utility crate... A jetpack! And after I drove my sheep righteously into Bart's worm (that had an oil drum no to so far) and burned him out to the health of a single digit I was depending on luck only... Bart drops the napalm strike and guess what? Once again with about ±5 of health my lonely warrior survives the wreckage and lies away to put Bart ouf his misery with the mighty handgun! A very dramatic game for Bart. I feel sorry cuz' of your bad luck... In the end the usual complements. Another good match was fought in the world of Worms. I just know there will be more to come. The Worms won't stop! Ever... BTW: FIRST OF MY GROUP!

I may aswell briefly review my three group games ;-)
Game 1, versus Losty: Round one was played like a shoppa, and he won it. Round two was close, and at one point he looked set to win 2-0, but I won it with a late Super Sheep. Round three felt good for me, and I won it in a manner similar to his round one victory.
Game 2, versus Phartknocker: When it started the worms had been randomly placed. My worms were in good spots, and I'd been waiting for weeks for the game, so I made a one-off decision to play on. I can't remember much about round one, apart from that I won it lol. In round two, a large number of PK's worms were on girders inbetween two islands. I was quite slow to take full advantage of this, and the 2-0 victory for me was a bit slower that I would have liked lol.
Game 3, versus UncleDave (Bytor watched): My round one performance came "straight out of the textbook". I didn't do anything memorable, but I didn't make any mistakes either :-). Round two was on a tricky map, and UncleDave had a few chance to inflict heavy damage on me - he didn't take them. I finished his last worm off with a Pigeon, much to his horror lol.
On the whole, I'm very pleased with my group stage results :-D. I'm now focused on the playoff section.

Hello guys, Here's a review of a match between tixas and GForce. This was the final Group C match that would decide the second player in the playoff. The winner should get through and the looser should get out of the playoff. I went to tixas's house to view the match cuz' as you know I am not given much time to be online so viewing matches is kinda' impossible thing for me. After some typical delay on schedule, tixas got online half an hour past the scheduled time ( he will never be good on ponctuality). Simon and Voodoo were there to watch the game as well. So they started. On round 1 the match went very close. In the end tixas had to suicide himself with his own cows to avoid the loss, making the round to be tied. After this long round Simon and Voodoo got tired of it and left. Anyway, onto round 2. Although tixas kind of controled the things to the point where he had 2 worms against 1 one from GForce. For GForce's luck, sudden death boomed on them, causing the surprise of tixas and myself. Itamar took the chance and won the round with a shotgun move. 1-0. Round 3 starts. And what a round... Simon and Voodoo missed quite a show by leaving after the first round. Since the beginning tixas didn't make the moves he wanted and GForce dangerously got ahead of him. Well it was 3 worms of GForce against 1 of tixas who had about 30 of health. Well options were to be made; I advised him " if you stay in the open you will loose" but he staid... He killed 1 of GForce's worms only to avoid suicide. So it was 2 worms against 1 and GForce is moving towards tixas last worm. I don't know why but he choosed just the exact wrong thing to do. He dropped a grenade at tixas but he accidentally gave it some horizontal power so the grenade went a bit far. Result: he drowned his worm and tixas's worms survived with 8 of health just to finish the final worm of GForce... So it was a 1-1 when it could've already be decided. Tixas went first and the map had some quite populated bridges on. He didn't made mistakes here and GForce got extremely nervous making mistakes after mistakes. In the end there was 4 worms of tixas against the last worms of GForce. They went on a darkside game but tixas nailed GForce's worm. 2-1 the final result... Very exciting game. Those of you who left missed quite a match. Lookslike tixas will be fighting Simon...

Here's an overview of my ill-fated game with the Champion from down-under:
Round 1 (Island): This round saw the least mistakes, and was very close all the way. At the end, I had 2 worms to his 1, all on high-health, and I was mentally preparing to finish him off with a flamer from a crate. But no... Stevo went and wiped out my 2 worms with his cows, and it was 'gg'. My post-round feeling: disbelief.
Round 2 (Cavern): The bad taste in my mouth from the cows blighted this round for me, and I made quite a few mistakes. I think Stevo was a bit edgy too, as he didn't take full advantage. Stevo did, however, have the upper hand throughout this round, and it was sd that saved me from 2-0. I couldn't believe my luck. Post-round feeling: delight.
Round 3 (Island): I was emotionally shattered by now, and Stevo was probably in a similar state. I can't remember much from this round, other than that I couldn't get my act together; I just didn't seem to able to do anything substantial. My relative inexperience of tourneys kicked-in and Stevo held his nerve and finished me off. Post-round feeling: despair.

me v ash (group stages) fantastic match, came down to a fun around like a loon with a shotgun at the end, i made the shot with 1 second to spare. me v xao (group stages) cant really remember much, and i did genuinely d/c (i have to play him in the daytime (12:00ish) and lots of people call, seems to cut me off when they do, night-time matches are better for me) anyhoo... we all know how important cr8s are in pro matches... and i had a sheep, an extra dyno and a rope left, i was gonna kick his ass, i had him trapped,,, and then i d/c, never been so pissed off, lol it finished faily though, it must be said, i guess the loser always moans a lil harder me v uncledave (playoffs) never walked over someone so easily, sorry dave, but your tele-placement at the start was terrible :-p

Here's the review of my final match in this year's CWT... I will not review it quite exaustively cuz' just having to remind of it makes me sad... We played Classic w/ Worm Select off and at the best of 5 rounds. On Round 1 I could've won it but a stupid mistake w/ a bad rope knocking cost me the round. Round 2, I won. Round 3; Patrick's petrols made me do some mistakes and after I had the control over the map (I had more worms than him) I lost the round. By now I was getting terribly nervous... Round 4, once more I started quite well and there was a point where I had 6 worms and Patrick had 3, and I lost it. here's one of the most important mistakes: I was about to type something in the chat menu but somehow the Page Down didn't worked, and as I was looking at the keyboard it went into my turn and I pressed Enter, hoping to finish typing, but as you might imagine I jumped w/ a 100 worms into the water... Now, I do not say that Patrick didn't diserve to win this game. He did, because he was the most regular wormer and didn't make the misakes I did. But I have this bitter after-taste in my mouth... I know that I could have won all the 3 rounds I've lost. I had the advantage in all of them, but my closing parts of each round were awful, terrible, shitty and lousy. I couldn't believe what was hapenning... I never played so bad in a CWT game. Finaly, my congratulations for MBonheur. Wish you Good Luck for your remaining CWT matches. I really would have liked to be in your position cuz' it was my goal to play Xaositect in an official match to try to get payback for last year's final ... I'll be supporting Xaositect now cuz' I voted for him in the "2003 favourite topic" and also for tixas, cuz' he's my personal friend (although I think he is kinda' handicaped against Simon)... Oh! And by the way, here's something that is troubling me. My own supersticion. Well, through all of 2002 CWT I've made my games bald (like in the profiles picture) but there was a time I let my hair to grow for about a month and that was also the time when I played the big final, as known, I lost that game. In this year I've made all my group stage games totaly bald too, and I won them all with excellency. These last weekd I let it grow again and I was planing to shave it again Saturday. I haven't got the chance to do it so I played MBonheur with hair, and I lost. I don't see any scientific reason for that to happen but I'm sure I'LL NEVER PLAY A CWT MATCH WITH HAIR AGAIN!! This weekends I'll return to my dementia bald head and I will leave it without hair while CWT exists!!!!!!!!!! I'm so so sad...
