[glow=green,5,0]So I ran in to Xaos today for the first time in a while and he tells me that he and Cres. have just been trying a bit of voice chat. I thought it sounded like a lark so I gave it a try as well.... after I found my microphone and hooked it up. We started off on MSM using the built in voice chat and it worked very well indeed. Very clear but a bit of a bandwidth hog for 56kers at 2 - 2.5 KB/s. We also tried out (www.)RogerWilco(.com) which is poorer quality but uses almost no bandwidth at all. After I got used too Xaos’s disgusting accent we thought we would see if the voice chat would run beneath WWP and guess what?!? After a few teething troubles (caused by my graphics card) we could play WWP and chat at the same time. It really 'enhanced the gaming experience' with real-time commentary and real-time ridicule when you fuck up... not to mention the screams of 'FALL, FALL, FALL' you get in the Shoppa's (not that any of us ever play them of course). Anyway, I highly recommend that you all install microslut messenger and give it a try (yes you need a microphone). If you don’t want install MSM then try RogerWilco. I've left a channel open on my machine here so just install it and connect to '**down now **' when you fancy a game of worms or MSM me on simon_laird@hotmail.com Talk to ya soon! (whores) [/glow]

[glow=green,5,0]Well get it and install it. I've switched off the RogerWilco thing on account of it being rubbish. MSM only supports 1 to 1 which wasnt the best when Xaos, Cres and myself ran in to each other today... but then its still the best quality. We need to find a suitable multiuser chat thing with good quality. Until then, install MSM. I've just been playing to Cres again.. this chat thingf is a real laugh.. cant wait to take the piss out of the yanks!

[glow=green,5,0]Found a great one. Its called PicoPhone and it's massive 60KB download! I tried it out last night and it worled very well. Its multi user, its free and you need it! Get it from here web.tiscali.it/vitez/picophone.html. I've not been able to test it with an 56kers yet so I'm not 100% on this one but its got all the functionality we need. Si[/glow]

[glow=green,5,0]...Like waited until I get home and switch it on at my end. To call you with it I'll need to know your IP address. Go to a command prompt and type 'ipconfig' and tell me what it says. If you are on a dial up connection then it will be differant every time you connect to the internet. I haven't opened my firewall for incomming connections for PicoPhone yet so I wont be able to receive incoming calls until I do (which will only take a second). If you have broadband (sorry I dont remember) then you'll probably have a fixed IP.. and that isn't your IP that you gave above.
Si
EDIT : OK, firewall opened and ready to rock[/glow]

Last myself and Simon spoke via PicoPhone! I would recommend that all the "big names" of CWT get their paws on it, so we can all say "hello" :-).

This voice chat thing is really an avant-guarde experience... It's so so cool. After i realized the importance of this, I went to MSN to search for all wormers who are in the tournament, and I actually found some. Unfortunatly, there are some who have problems and can't chat with the rest of us. Javito as a router and told me he couldn't have voice chat cuz' of that; aSh hasn't a microphone and Voodoo hasn't got any speakers. However I'm stil hoping to catch some of the others online to have a little chat. I logged in Messenger this weekend and I had 2 conversations with the champion, Xaositect and also 2 conversations with Simon. I laughed a lot. I've been playing Worms with these fellows for about half a year and now ahving the chance of talking with them really makes the worming more than just a game. If more members of our comunity would embrace the voice chatting experience we (me, Simon and Steve) are trying to expand to others the comunity will become better and stronger. Things are looking good... P.S.: Simon, just received a DustedTrooper mail; it seems he missed the apointment as well due to some severe personal reasons, so we are now aiming for this next Saturday to have our match played.

I've now got msn: mrtpenguin@hotmail.com is my name. I tried to talk to Jigsaw through it but we couldn't connect.
I hope to speak to more people soon ;-)

After several failed attempts on more than one occasion, myself and Jigsaw connnected via PicoPhone, and had a good talk :-). He spoke well for someone who didn't study English for long and doesn't speak it often.
Whilst we were talking, my msn stuff was flashing, but I was focusing on the conversation and forgot about it, so I'm sorry if anyone got ignored, lol.
I've "done" Simon and Jigsaw, but still need to "do" Crespo, Xaositect and Konrad, any maybe others too. My IP changes every session, so I'll tell you it in msn or wherever we are typing.
Bobby.

haha @ Simon's reply!
I spoke at length with Steve (Xaositect) this morning (last night to him, hehe) via msn. Like Simon, I was disgusted by his filthy Ozzie accent LOL (j/k).
I didn't think I could talk with anyone over msn, but I evidently can, so I hope to speak to Crespo and Konrad soon.
