Quick question about the rules. During qualifying or group stage, does the home player have to tell the opponent in advance what scheme he is about to use in their match?

nope. That is optional.
I might aswell say that I'm waiting for the guys from ProBoards to fix my moderator account since I can't create new threadsand I would like to introduce some changes to the allowed schemes in CWT in the upcoming qualifiers but I'll need a poll and therefore I am waiting...

I'm intrigued, so the endless hours I've spent practicing Blast Zone might have been in vain? ;D

Crespo, any news of what schemes might be at risk? Were you indeed planning on getting rid of Elite and Blast Zone? And was it just for the Qualifiers or normal CWT group stage as well? I note not many has used Blast Zone this year (it was last used in the 2005 qualifiers) so perhaps it wouldn't be a great loss? Elite seems to have been very popular though, surprisingly even more popular than Pro, so I suspect you might not get the vote to drop it. If you want to remove it you might have to make do without democracy!

Well I could as well takethe oportunity to say that the dudes at ProBoards didn't restore my account properly so I can't make new threads or even do any other thing that thesquick replies, I gues they don't understand jack shit of these things after all... But yes I am trying to solve this very fast so I can test the changes in the qualifiers.
The schemes at risk are Blast Zone, The Darkside - this one will be surely out -, Elite and Classic (this one too will be certainly out)... Since I can't make a frickin' poll I can't be the democratic host I used to be...

Well, we could discuss at least what the poll should look like.
If you have already decided to drop The Darkside and and Classic then I suppose the poll could be:
Which of these schemes would you like to keep for 2006?
1) Blast Zone 2) Elite 3) Both 4) Neither
If you agree to this poll then perhaps somebody like MrTPenguin could create it on your behalf?
EDIT: and I suppose option 1 would mean +1 vote for BZ and -1 for Elite and 3) would be +1 and +1 etc...

and include option "limit schemes to intermediate only" it would be better then to make a list with all the schemes and everybody votes for each one. For instance: Elite + Darkside + Blast Zone - Pro + Classic - ...

I don't reckon Jigsaw was serious about limiting it to intermediate only. Besides Crespo already said he was dropping Darkside and Classic.
Also usually in these kind of boards the vote options are quite simple. I.e. one answer out of a few possible options. I don't think it allows you to select more than 1 answers, let alone multiple choices per answer (for +/-). Correct me if I'm wrong.

I won't limit this tournament to 1 scheme only! A good normal player shoudl now how to play well not on 1 scheme only. So I've made up my mind. I will only remove those 2 unused schemes, The Darkside and Classic. The rest stays.
