Good plan, Mustard-Cress. It's better for a few lazy wormers to be penalised than for a lot of active wormers to be forced to wait in agitation for progress to be made.

3(Home + Away) + Second Round + Quarter Finals + Semi Finals + Third-Place Playoff/Final = 10 x 2 weeks = 20 weeks ~ 4 months ~ length of CWT 2003 [The above calculation is the upper-limit - I accept that the duration of the Tournament might well be closer to 16 weeks, although that's still a long time.] I think a rethink is in order. I propose a fortnight for each of the three home/away fixtures, and one week for each subsequent round. Given that the latter rounds ought to get progressively shorter, this system could last for six weeks, which would be fantastic.

Uhh that may be a good idea but what exactly do we gain out of wrapping up the tournament quickly? 2003's is over and 2004 is too far away, unless your planning 2 per year I dont see the problem in it lasting 6months. I will think over you proposal Pinguim, but I really wouldn't like to rush it more than what I've planned because i think that more rush onto it would make me to penalize many wormers. Furthermore, here's Xaos aussie point of view over the matter, which is a well seen point. Just think: how many of us are dying to move on to 2004 CWT? Many I believe... So we shouldn't make things really really tight here... Only tight enough... P.S.: I don't like your signature. It is a mockkery out of mine.

P.S.: I don't like your signature. It is a mockkery out of mine. Yeah Pingu, Crespo worked hard for HOURS to steal that Simpsons quote! No-one ever comments on my amazingly hilarious and ironic sig How you guys doing btw? It's been too long. As soon as I manage to work out how to access WormNet with this stupid proxy router LAN thingy, or whatever it is, I'll be back in action, getting my ass kicked by CWTers once again.

Ho ho ho... Well, I'm thinking of changing my signature soon to Evolution made men out of monkeys. Religion makes monkeys out of men.
On timekeeping, I want it to be fairly short for two reasons. Firstly, if it goes on too long past the Easter holiday it will seriously affect my final-year exam revision. Secondly, I found that the longer it lasted last year, the more I dwelt upon it and thus the higher the pressure rose...

Yeah if it goes until June or July it will be over my 2nd semester exam season, but in that case we could claim and handicap season, while the others play...

Humm, I'm thinking that the initial proposal I did could be a little bit more tight.
As Penguin said, the final exam season chouldn't be disturbed. My (and other portugueses wormers too) exam season also matches those days. So, instead of 1 game each 15 days, how about 1 game each 10 days? That should be more like it should be. Tell me about your thoughts on this guys.

[glow=green,5,0]It's not really fair you guys arranging the time table that will effect everyone so that its fits around your busy periods is it? In that case Xaos and I would like to demand that all games be played at 7am GMT as that would be more convenient for us. And those of us who work for a living would like to have our busy periods taken in to account as well. Get my point? I'm sure everyone will have a time constraint at some point, its all part of the game Let the tourni take 6 months. I know some stages seem to drag but without us having put a league together yet, the rest of the year will drag. Si [/glow]

Simon lad, let me remind you that I'm just asking you to play 1 game each 10 days, thing you can perfectly manage to do. Remember that now we don't get to play 3 games in group stage but 6, so more games now. It's not hard to make a game in 10 days.
Anyway when r u getting a computer to worm?
As for the time lag between Aussie mates and the rest of us, well I've played Steve a couple of times and as I'm in the early afternoon he's on the night (10/11 pm his time), which is a suitable time for gameplay between people in Australia and European fellows.
This is what I think at least. On a diferent topic, I can't update any kind of thing now on CWT site, I'm currently typing this message in the University terminal. Exam thing going on (just passed the subject of Human Evolution with 16 values - 1 to 20 - but yesterday the General Mathematics exam when bad, must study...).

[glow=red,2,300]Playing a game once in 10 days seems ok in theory but somtimes its a little harder than we think, things have a habbit of pilling up. Anyway Im sure we will manage, also to Simon, thanx for making the time point....although Im fine for 11pm games they do have a habbit of going long times, past 1am Im seriously at a disadvantage to others, so If Im playing a tounrey match 10pm my time is the latest I will begin[/glow]

after 2 years of cwt lazy wormers are still present. deadline for game 1 ends monday and still a lot who haven t played... i really didn t want to give any rank penalty... i 'm thinking about another procedure instead of the rank penalty: same journeys/deadlines system but instead of rank penaltys I'll make it this way: on the second or third journey without playing that wormer gets replaced!!!! Considering the amount of waiting wormers that could be a better solution for the problem...
