There goes my first game review... After having met with some cwters around Messenger and Wormnet I was about to leave the Internet but this someone appears on me: Voodoo. Quite a player he was... The moment when he won the game he still haven't used a single weapon!! how is this possible? Well, for starters, I had my 1st CWT battle for tomorrow afternoon against MajesticJara and I was totaly ignoring the thought of fighting Voodoo right on the first day of CWT. Well, after I told him "no, I shall not play with you today." he kept stinging and provoking me for a game. The darkside once again has used his dark powers... Because I was inevitably " drunken" because of the first day's movements and even some voice chats I got carried away and went for a unpredicted game. Big advice from Crespo: Never play an unpredicted and unplanned game. As I was playing I started to get the feeling of "Jesus! I didn't want to play this game now." Even after I won the first round. I was playing home even. Never should have made that mistake. Of course you might know by now that I lost the fricken' game. Tell you what? I think I didn't play that bad, but a fuckin' bridge pile I got in the third round (I lost the 2nd round due to a bad escape) allowed me no comeback at all managing Voodoo a triple-kill move. Also, I've had it with Classic scheme!! The last 2 CWT games I played were played under Classic and I lost both of them. I thought to get Voodoo on a lightsider scheme like Classic but I begin to think as myself becoming too a darksider. So, the use of Classic gave me not much of an advantage (any at all, cuz' it was the random placement who made that fuckin' 3-kill-pile). Voodoo congrats on your win but I warn you and everyone who will have to play me: you will not break my will and twist my mind anymore. I will arrange my games previously through mail and set a date and a time with my oponnent. I will not play CWT battles instantaneously. Crespo P.S.: Dave, you got lucky cuz' I was happy and my will was weak for your stingings but i am no longer happy...

NormalPRO was " dropped in at the deep-end" in his first ever tournament game - he faced an on-form Penguin. The first round got off to the expected slightly-nervey start, but I gradually nudged ahead and won it. I got off to a better start in round two, and Dimitri's big attacks about 5 mins in didn't pull me back, and I went on to win again. I was "at home" and I chose intermediate on islands. I look forward to the "away leg" EDIT: Well done Voodoo and unlucky Crespo. I like to play my CWT games at very short notice, coz I don't like waiting.

I've been allowed to watch the matches between Ashmallum and Bytor. Before they start playing, Ash wanted me to warm him up, we played about 12 rounds, he was good and the rounds were close. Then Bytor asked me to warm him up, which I did. I never saw that, I beated Bytor 2-0!! He was definitely not in form, he even killed one of his worms by jumping in the water. Now what would happen in this CWT match?? When it begun, I was very surprised to see Bytor winning over Ashmallum. In fact, what happened was exactly the opposite of what I thought. Ash played one of the worst round of his life, and Bytor was playing damn good as usual. Though the second round was much better for Ash, Bytor won 2-0. Then they decided to play the other match, Ash home / Bytor away. Ash chose Intermediate, he played very good but Bytor is still too tough, he won 2-0. While Bytor made almost no mistake (I don't remember of any big mistake), Ash made some, more than usually because he got nervous (he also got mad because the random positions didn't help him at all in one round that moreover he played very well indeed). Afterwards we made some friendlies with Bytor VS Ashmallum VS fury, just for fun and for chatting.

My away game to NormalPRO has now been played, and it was a lot closer and better than my home game with him. He picked Pro, and we were never too far apart throughout the game. A foolish three-cow attack by me at the end of round one backfired and put NP one-nil up. About halfway through round two I was realistically fearing a 2-0 defeat, but I held my nerve and won the round, and then the one after it. NP played well under pressure and deserved his point.

Group F; I played Paranoico away, result Teletubbies 2 -1 Paranoico. We played 1 close game during the week which went to sudden death and I just pipped Para. After that he had to go. Today Friday we finished our match. The first game was going Para's way and he had 2 worms to my one when my virus checker trapped an emailed loaded with the NetSky.b worm, and our connection was broken. When we resumed Para claimed the game as he was in the lead, it was my fault for leaving my email on and so I conceded the game. The 3rd game was tough and nearing sudden death, I had an advantage as Para had used up all his ropes and jetpack etc. in a final attempt to get the better of me he teleported onto a health crate giving him over 100 points. I was able to jetpack to the cavern he was in and leave a "Holy" which blew the side out of the craven and drowned Para. A close and tough game, now we have to play my home game

Group D, Newcomer vs Newcomer. I played my very first CWT home match against Hallq, and chose Intermediate. The first round went quite well for me though I was nervous. Very nice move from Hallq when he activated low gravity, took out a sheep and made my 100 HP worm go through half the island in the air, and fall in the water... We ended up with 3vs1, he kept using strikes on my exposed worms and I jetpacked my 10 HP worm to his 77 HP worm, and suicide myself with him using a dynamite. Next round, cave this time, this mate showed me he can be very unpredictable, he used low gravity again and batted one worm which collided with another worm much further (about a third of the map), and they both went out of the level. Okaaaay. Trying to keep calm, I made some nice piles but each time his next worm was in the pile... (his worms are all called Badger so it's impossible to remember the order hehe). Fortunately he made some mistakes, but me too... I've been having two unfortunate dragon punches that were supposed to send the worm to water, but each time he landed without problem. I was really thinking I would lose this round, I was outnumbered 3vs1, but I home missiled the remaining lucky worm who should have fallen in the water, then before he could play with his other worm in danger, I had to kill his 48 HP worm, I used a mine using the jetpack, but I failed! 2 HP left. Unfortunately for him, he killed his lucky worm by falling in the water. 1vs1, 64HP vs 65HP, he used the torcher to get out of his hole and I throwed my dear Holy Hand Grenade inside the tunnel. Very stressfull round

When CWT started this year I didn't give much thought to BetongÅsna. I was Only concerned about getting By Raven and Ashmallum. I played them both many times in friendlies and carried about a 90% win average in about 30 games for them both. But as many of U know I don't play well in the "big games" Nervousness always gets the best of me And both Raven and Ashmallum are vary tactical players. CWT this year started on my Birthday and although I showed up for Crespo's Feb 21 Anything Goes rendez-vouz I had no intention of playing a CWT game that day because I was up the entire previous night with my sick son and from lack of sleep I was in no shape to play. However with a little persuasion from Raven I did play and it worked to my advantage. I was to tied to be nervous and played an "in form" game winning 2-0. The next two games with Ashmallum turned out to be somewhat easy wins as Ashmallum was more nervous then me and just couldn't do any really creative moves. Then my last game with Raven turned out to be a real eye opener, he played Perfectly not bothered by what was on the line at all I barely got the 2-0 win
But my game with BetongÅsna had some twists. In my first round with him on my home scheme It was a total slaughter .I won the round will all 8 of my worms still breathing! Round two was a little closer and I won with 4 worms left. Then for his home scheme we played PRO. For those of U who don't know in PRO scheme the weapons do not restock, U got what U got for the whole 2-3 round game. In round one I had an uneventful win. Then came round two and I must say I was completely unprepared for what was about to hit me. BetongÅsna came at me with a vengeance right from the start using all his weapons and saving nothing for a possible round three. I quickly decided to let him have the round expecting that I would get an easy victory in round three. I didn't need to worry, I did get the easy win in round three never having to use my big weapons, I still had my special weapon (cows), a banana, and a homing missile when the game was over. What I thought was a mistake by BetongÅsna in round two using all his weapons turned out to be a brilliant strategy. I now realize that after loosing 2-0 on my home scheme and round 1 of His home scheme It became clear he was not going to beat me so his solution was to get an "at all costs" 1 round win from me which gave him 1 point lead over Ashmallum Breaking the last place tie BetongÅsna and Ashmallum shared. - well done

Hey there, Just played my home match against Semaphore. I never played him before and judging on his recent results against Hallq (he lost 2-1 two times) and on mine (I won 2-0 two times), I thought Semaphore was at a slightly lower skill level than Hallq. Well I was so wrong . The first round went very very well for me, I also had luck, and he did seem to have the skills I expected. I won with 4 worms left. Next round, the starting positions were quite ok, there was not much luck involved in this one, and we didn't make a lot of mistakes. I lost and he had 2 worms left. He played much better on this round, how come? Next round, unfortunately I was very bad placed (at least 4 worms in big danger) and my first turn should have made two of his worms fall in the water... but I had this stupid longbow bug! His worms didn't fall and I had 15 damage . The round was totally in his favour from the beginning because of this... I had to darkside but he went to shoot me and I tried this desperate kamikaze turn with my dynamite, hoping we would die with me. Didn't work hehe. Well I'm very surprised at Semaphore skills. We talked a bit after this and he told me he was very nervous during his games against Hallq. He managed to keep calm in our 2 last rounds... Your friend is a very good addition to CWT, Crespo This group gets tougher and tougher... mielu is very dangerous, too.

Hi again... Just lost my two matches against mielu We both chose intermediate on islands and it ended in 2-0 and 2-1 for him. Well I had very close friendlies with him before. In fact we played 4 friendly rounds some days ago, and it ended in 2-2, so I was pretty confident to grab at least one point in each match. Plus, I was playing very well these days (almost never made mistakes) and I was winning every match. Mielu was really better than me tonight, more than in friendlies (for example he always missed the 100 HP damage with the flamer, even with Semaphore, while he never missed it with me tonight). I won't describe what happened in each round but here's probably what made me lose : 1- Some of mielu's turns were awesome. Contrary to other players I usually play, he makes a lot of not obvious kills. This impressed me so much that I sometimes forgot to think about what to do with my next worm... yeah I know it's not something to do in CWT. This made me do something stupid with my worms without previous thought, wasting jetpack in a hurry etc. 2- In these 5 rounds, I didn't count but I had quite a lot of blocked worms, ie. worms stuck in a tight place and who cannot do anything to kill the enemy directly. I probably should have teleported them much more, but I often used a switch to play with another one, or use the air/napalm strike. There, I think that's about it. There was not so much bad luck with the random placement (except blocked worms...), I mean worms in real danger at the beginning. One thing that really pissed me off a lot is a genius turn mielu did. We were basically in a deep very large hole, 2vs2, and I was really about to win since he had a 6 HP and 26 HP worm while mine had 98 HP and one a little more than 40 HP I think. Well my 98 HP was unfortunately placed exactly in the right position to be batted to water with low gravity, despite the big obstacles that were above us. I couldn't kill him now, because of the 26 HP worm, damn! I darksided and he won the next turn, using the jetpack. I'm so disappointed, but as mielu said this is just a game. But damn does it count to me

Dario suffered exactly the same fate as le nouveu Francais CWTer Fury last night, losing to me 2-0 and 2-1, as did NormalPRO, interestingly. Both games were bog-standard Intermediates.
Me v him: The first round was a tour de force by me, helped along by 'gl' for me and 'bl' for him. The second round was much closer, but my late HHG settled it.
Him v me: I was only expecting to play one game, but he was determined to play both, so I agreed to game #2. I approached the game with a rather carefree attitude, which cost me the first round. My performance wasn't much better in the second round, which I managed to win. The third round started like one of those big-damage quickfire rounds you get from time to time, and I was worried I might lose... However, a tactical error of judgement by the Argie coupled with a superhero-like turn by me sealed his fate. NormalPRO was a spectator in both games, and he needed me to win both games or he'd be out (assuming Dario beat Manolo). The late drama in the last round must've compelled the Russian to reach for his Vodka!

Group F Teletubbie V Paranoico. Paranoico was due to play me last Sunday night, but... he had urgent business and didn't show, I felt let down :-( (We met up on MSM Friday lunchtime and having apologised to skipping Sunday (apparently he had to make love ( I think that's the Spanish translation) to his girlfriend) Oh to be young and free. Anyway we played my choice and I chose elite (Is this old man mad or what?) The first game I was thrashed, Para killed all my worms and he had 3 left. I was thinking elite, a good move? NO! the second game Para made a couple of early errors and I was able to capitalise, the game went my way score 1-1. The 3rd game was a lot tighter with us ending up with 1v1 worm each, luckly for me he had 3 health and I had 51. It was cat and mouse with Para teleporting away and me trying to keep witnin striking distance. I finally tracked him down to the the left of the screen but like the good fighter he is Para did not give up and I faced a barage of girders to block my way. Finally as sudden death was approaching I shotgunned through his last girder and hit an oil barrel which was near him, that was enough to win the game. A tough and fair game, with the final score Tubbies 2 - Para1. Para wanted more so we played another (friendly elite game) I was glad to say I had the edge, but this wasn't enough for Para who I think wanted my blood :-). I had to go then and we seperated knowing that on another day things may have been different.

Group D, second match with Semaphore, Intermediate on islands. Last time, Semaphore let me win round 1 very easily, and played very well and beated me in round 2. In round 3, my bad random placement did the rest, he won. 2-1. This time, I think I progressed, because each round I could win. First round as usual, I won, Semaphore seemed to be a little nervous. Second round... I was winning about from the beginning, it was going very well for me when he got a 2x Damage and put a dynamite in a place where I have two separated (but quite close) worms with 100HP and about 50HP. It killed them both and he won the round. In 3rd round, same story, I was winning all along the round and we ended in 2-1. He darksided, I used a rope to climb and I had then to go down to shoot his 37 HP worm. I had two bungees. Used one to go down... Then I had to go down again, and there was a mine below. I don't know why I am so stupid, but I felt lazy to press F8 to go down, so I hurt myself, activated the mine, which sent me in the water. He just had to jetpack to my other worm and kill me. Duh. The fact that I was always winning in the 3 rounds really makes me mad. It seems I still make mistakes at decisive moments, which I think is due to my lack of experience in tournaments... Anyway. Unless Semaphore manages to win one round against mielu, I should go through... With 2 wins and 4 losses

Yes very very close and exciting. The 1 point for Semaphore gets him tied with you and a tie-breaker game should one to watch and aplaud. I am also glad that Semaphore is showing all of his potential after loosing twice against the easiest wormer in D. (sorry for fury's mistakes too) Update on the standings in the weekend only, sorry University as usual.
