My 2nd game review: Crespo - MajesticJara I was expecting to win this game quite confortably, however the polish lad turned out to be a nice surprise (our first game had been quite easy for me with a 2-0 whipping). Well, not really nice for me, but for him... I choosed the scheme Tournament because it suits one the styles I like the most to play in. First round: I had it. Moves were looking good, and MJ wasted a bit more stuff than I (no restock in this scheme); after the round was over I thought "yay, it's being easy..." However on the 2nd round a new Crespo appeared. After I poorly chose a rather technical cave map (I should have gone for an open to give MJ the final kicking by wasting all my big-boom stuff - my use of the super sheep was simply disastrous) I never quite knew what was I doing. I was wasting all my goodies and the kills were not showing up, and MJ played at a very very nice level. Result could only be one: I lose, tied game then. And on the third round again I failed in the map chosing: Instead of picking a technical cave because I had very few stuff I picked an open map and MJ had more movement goodies than I so I was quite an ASS; anyway the polish got to me. 2-1... Now I have to win Voodoo in my last game to get myself a chance for the playoff. If I lose I will certainly be OFF the playoff... NOTES: Well done cuz! My cousin Pipinasso has reached the playoff by beating MBonheur on ihs fifth game.

MrTPenguin v ManoloI fancied a change from Intermediate, so I picked Blast Zone. Myself and Manolo were flattered by the fact that our little group game drew as many spectators (4) as last year's final! Both rounds were fairly close, but I had the upper hand most of the way, and won 2-0. Manolo v MrTPenguinManolo picked Blast Zone too. I'd now won 5/5 group games and, with 15 points, was the confirmed winner of group B ;D I was a bit tired by now (it was ~23:00), and had I needed to win, I probably wouldn't have played this one. However, I pressed on. I was fortunate to win the scrappy first round, but wasn't so lucky in the second, which Manolo won with the help of a devastating Earthquake. At this stage I thought to myself: "hmm, there's a pattern here. I win 2-0 at home fairly easily, and then scrape a 2-1 win away". I was wrong Manolo matched me blow-for-blow in the finale, and after a crazy cows-then-nana climax, he emerged triumphant. Manolo did well to maintain his form throughout the 2+ hour period, and I salute him. I wish both Manolo and Dario luck in their last games.

I just read the review on the MrTPenguin vs Manolo games posted previously today but I gotta state my stuff too : Yes it was amazing that a game between the first against the last of B's drawed so many attentions (this was probably due to the fact that there aren't much games left and it's time for decisions): Bytor, fury and Fantomas watched this game and on Manolo's back you could find me, Semaphore (from group D), Semaphore's brother (ToZe - qualifiers last summer, didn't make it) and dr3ams (a qualifier for cwt 2005) so it all came down a big worms "cwt-world" party. On the first game Manolo wasn't taking his chances. There was nerves all over the room. He also had some bad placement so he really couldn't go for it and the bird took it with no resistance from Manolo. I really enjoyed observing Manolo's body language: the shaking hands on the keyboard and the constant cursing were nice to follow. If I have time I could even make a drawing of the scene described here. If I do, I'll scan it and post it. Maybe I got time, Easter holidays next week. On the second game I really enjoyed watching really close games between the favourite bird and my unknown - and until that time, disapointing - friend. He showed some skill by giving the bird from Leicester a good fight, he missed some moves and Manolo took his chances this time. The last round was breathtaking. This victory showed what I said earlier that Manolo can sometimes pull off something nice on the game, however his poor performances with NormalPro don't give him now more than the fight to escape relegation to qualifiers. He stands equal with Dario, should be good and exciting games. As for the playoffers in B, MrTPenguin goes first and NormalPro goes second.

Jigsaw vs Konrad review:
Result of our games is somewhat unexpected and im not quite happy but here it goes. First game was Luck Zone ahem i mean Blast Zone - Konrads home scheme. First round was tight almost no mistakes, succesful throw outs with dynamites/hhg even from very hard places, only turn when no single worm died was when Konrad tried kinda impossible thing with cows, however to even that one of my worms died because of water rise, in the end I won it. Second round I started without killing any worm, reason was that all his killable worms where close to my worms and if I tried to kill any of them he would have two easy kills, it was going smooth till the almost end, when we had two worms each and my turn, two worms were piled, one mine was on right side of the map and other his was on left side but on top, not bad place for carpet bomb. Having only one rope I tried it and most annoying thing happened, carpets took 149 of 150... anyway in next turn he killed one of my worms then I killed one of his and hid my last 200hp worm in tiny hole where he couldnt bat me from, he came knocked me down then realized that he has no dynamite to throw me out, it looked like bat wont do either so he started doint weird things walked around showing off his nanas and stuff hoever his only safe chance was to draw with ming, and he did it nicely i must say, who cares that it was last second lol!
Third round wasnt as smooth as first two I didnt make any mistake but in two turns weapon didnt work as I hoped even the fack that i killed his 3 worms (weak ones) with quake didnt help me as I also killed one my worm what lead to 1vs1 situation and his turn. 1-1 it was.
Fourth round, was somewhat nervous, in the end i was left with 3 weak worms one on left one on right and one in the middle and one rope, his 200 hp worm was hidden within some land (not some great hide but still) I didnt have ming anymore and I didnt want to risk wasting last rope for nana. From one side he was covered with girder and with good wind I managed to do some damage and open him up, so he used another girder and so iI used ss, then another girder so I decided to use mail strike since there was no wind but it missed, Konrad used air strike on one of my worms but there was no kill, next turn i used carpets which opened him alright. Without anymore girders he tried mine strike and killed two worms, but the close one didnt die in next turn I finished it with minigun. 2-1 for me in blast zone
My home scheme - Elite First round, cave as always I had nice ideas however I wasted skunk and hhg what put me in uncomfortable situation. I hid my last 100hp worm and tried not to let Konrad come close as I knew he might do some mistake, I sent sheep to kill one of his worms, other one was killed by wery sudden wet death, in the end I had advantage as he already used his homer and I didnt plus I got ss from crate. However I never got chance to use it properly, when the water was already high he teleported into my tunnel (tele from crate, bah!) i tried to drown him with sheep but no luck, he lived and pushed me to water in next turn. Second round was also in cave and was very similar to first one, except mines were like everywhere but still i managed to play nicely, no mistakes this time (from my side that is heheh) skunked two of his worms killed two other. In the end he had one 1hp worm and i had two 100 and 125hp, I patiently waited for opportunity to kamikaze and it was 1-1. Third round open map was going smoothly I had it all planned in the end I was left with one 70hp worm and he had one 29 near me and other 40~ bit on left, in last move I only had to block this 40 wrom with petrol so Konrad would not have anymore teles nor ropes, but I couldnt jump on stupid pixel to have clear shot, annoying is that before I jumped there without any problem... so I lost that 2-1 bleh
now this looks like kind of novel but oh well noone has to read it:P

Interesting games. I believe you're both now tied at the top of group E with 14 points a-piece, so there's gonna have to be a decider

Group F Teletubbies (playing away) 0 - 2 (13 the player) I was well beaten by one of the nicest players I've played against. Courteous and always congratulates you on a good move, he may be a late joiner, but he'll be a great asset to CWT. First game was going well for me and I think I had an edge until a devistating cow attack near the end of the round nearly finished me there and then. We ended up 1v1 worms, mine had 38 health his 62, after some teleporting and tunneling and me taking more damage. I had a chance, just jet pack over drop my dynamite and fly to safety. So I did just that; time was running out but I got there pressed f5 and flew, Phew I thought! What I had done was drop a mine not dynamite. next turn 13 had an easy kill to win the round. Second game; I was all over the place I couldn't string together a very good game, 13 played a lot better than me although we both made some mistakes. It was a straight forward win for 13 having 2 worms to my 1 at the end and with me having no chance to kill them both. Well played mate, I'll try harder in the return game. ;D

Yesterday I watched the official game between 13 and Chicken23. The romanian chose intermediate scheme. I played them both recently and I think they are about the same level. No personal preference, there're both nice mates, with good attitude and all 1st round, in a closed cave. Both teams have been very close all along the round, but I must say I've never ever seen a round with so many mistakes on both sides. They were nervous, cause they didn't play like this in friendlies with me (although 13 actually did in our very first round together). With the poor kill rate, sudden death came with 2 for Chicken23 and 2 or more for 13. 13 managed to parachute just close to the 2 remaining worms of the english man, and kill them both with shotgun. 2nd round, a massive island with no holes. Chicken23 started the round, and there was a good opportunity to kill one worm just with a rope knocking, to the left side of the island. Chicken23 tried that, but the rope was a bit too short, he missed the rope knocking and even throwed himself to water!! (I hate that when it happens to me). 13 made no mistake and killed 2 worms. Soon Chicken23 was outnumbered 4 vs 8 worms. He told us he felt like giving up, I was really sorry for him cause he's a good mate and there's no real level difference between them both! We encouraged him to keep trying, although I didn't believe he would make it now. Chicken23 kept trying, putting his worms in the same place as enemy worms, cleverly blocking the right worms with girders, hiding from air/napalm strikes... and thanks to some mistakes from 13, won the round with a 100 HP worm!! 3rd round, in a closed cave. Quite a lot of mistakes too here on both sides but fortunately less than in 1st round. Very close until sudden death, but Chicken23 was having the advantage since several turns, his worms were above the cave and 13's worms were below. After sudden death, the english man left 13 with only one worm left, the romanian darksided, but Chicken23 still had 2 ropes and he could easily reach and kill him. The whole game lasted more than an hour. It seemed lost for Chicken in the beginning of 2nd round... good come back I must say. So there's always hope hehe 13 beated Chicken23 2-0 in Chicken23's home scheme, elite. Chicken23 beated 13 2-1 in 13's home scheme, intermediate. This group is tough and interesting! ;D

Thanks for reviewing their games for us - the earlier any results are known the better. This group is obviously of interest to me, seeing as I'm gonna play its runner-up.
I hope messrs Tixas and Automatico get their remaining games played soon.

aye, my group is very interesting. and the elite vs 13 was quite a horrible match for me. I won the first round with aid of 3 ninja ropes in crate. Then the second round i was making stupid mistakes and 13 beat my easily here. And the last round it was quite close but i made a horrible mistakes of traveling to his worm to attack and then running out of time and just getting shot back down to take fall damage and wasted my rope. I wasnt too pleased with myself after these games as was my home scheme and i was hoping for a better result.
The second game i thought i didnt have a chance of getting any points, let alone 3. Somehow i manged to and kinda got abit of trust back into my game. Certainly a good round vs 13. Shall be interesting to see how Pete does in his home scheme vs the romanian and myself as it will affect who goes to next round quite alot.
