I graduated from University today with a good enough grade to do the postgraduate course I want to do! ;D England beat the Swiss 3-0, which happens to be the best possible result you can get in a CWT knockout game. I know you're Polish, Jigsaw 'Til this evening...

Jigsaw 3-0 MrTPenguin [~50 mins] As you can see, it was a whitewash. Jigsaw was the stronger player throughout the match, and I felt like a spectator a lot of the time I was fairly pleased with my performance though, and I take some little comfort in the knowledge that I went out to the champion (again) when he was on form. I'm pleased also to note that the tradition of at least one Briton getting onto the podium will be maintained I wish Jigsaw well in the final (whenever that may be) and I look forward to the third-place playoff.

Please reserve me a spot in the final match! ;D I know this is early but now there's only 3 spots left OMG just realizing i'm the last newcomer to play! Gotta win my next match against Konrad, it would be awesome to reach the semis to have two more official matches : Voodoo + either Penguin or Jigsaw, hehe

Should have... but Konrad isn't there today. I wonder if he's coming this weekend. Penguin, your new avatar looks like an obstacle object you could find in this totally absurd level-scheme in WWP

1 Konrad - fury 3 Spectators : Javito, NormalPRO, spa1n (first round only). We both didn't want any lucky piling so we decided to choose only complex maps, and it was effective since none of us managed to do an easy double kill right in the first turn. Round 1 : Complex cave in hell, we were both determined to win this match and there were no very big mistakes. Konrad got a dynamite in a crate and used it well. In the end it was 2 for me (22hp and 100hp) vs 1 for Konrad (~70hp). He darksided, I teleported my 100hp worm to him so that he cannot either get out, or injure me more than 50hp without hurting himself. He used a petrol bomb to prevent me to do anything with my 100hp worm, so I just opened a way with my 22hp worm. He then used a sheep and killed the other one. I could now go get him with my remaining worm, in a tight place with lots of napalm everywhere, dropped my holy and got back to safety. 0-1 Round 2 : Complex cave in this grey industrial scheme, in this round both players did big mistakes : I piled two of my worms near water, and Konrad drowned them both with a dynamite, and Konrad changed his mind in the last seconds, which made him jump badly and fall in the water. It went quite strategic because the map was separated in two parts and you couldn't go from one to another. Konrad had his last 3 worms in the left part, and I got one with his worms, and two in the right part. In order not to waste one rope, I did a grenade shot that unfortunately was a tiny bit too strong and rolled on an horizontal girder above the worm I intended to kill... I quickly piled my worm with one of his worms, and next he injured him carefully. There was a pile of 3 worms, with one of mine, I decided to kamikaze my 9hp worm that was in the right part, to allow the other 70hp one to go to the left part. Then sudden death started, 2v2, and made the mistake to teleport my worm on one of his, thinking he would not be able to kill both. He did, and won the round. 1-1 Round 3 : Complex cave with the forest scheme, in this round Konrad made several big mistakes and maybe did too expensive moves. In the end he desperately tried a very risky move with cows from a rope, got injured badly to 10hp, mine survived with 2hp, switched to him and finished Konrad with 5 worms left (the only bad round that Konrad played). 1-2 Round 4 : Complex island in the brown-land "under construction" scheme, almost no worm was on top or side of the island, so it went pretty like a cave. A lot of worms from both teams were to the right of the map, close to each other so the special weapon had to wait before being used. This turned into my favour since HHG is very long to come. Thanks to an unfortunate mistake of Konrad, I could have the advantage and he started to darkside before being left with one worm. Got to him, he killed m e then teleported again to another place. It was 2 for me vs 1 for him. Used the torcher to reach him, and after using the torcher to get closer, he used his 2 cows to kill my 100 hp worm, it worked but he injured his worm, who landed on a barrel. Sudden death came, and I shot the barrel with the shotgun. 1-3 I'm very happy to be in the semis In fact I wanted this to be able to play 2 extra matches : Voodoo then either MrTPenguin or Jigsaw. This game wasn't so much about strategy, but on the number of mistakes. Konrad did a few more mistakes than I did and it gave me the advantage. Bad luck Konrad, hope you'll go further next year and that you'll have time to train more than 5-6 days during the tourney, too. BTW : In one of the rounds, just after I won, Konrad said to me that he had got a banana bomb in a crate, but I don't remember on what round it is.

2 Voodoo - fury 3 Spectators : none. Okay, before I start, just want to say that my memory is failing miserably and although the facts are true, some stuff may not be correct. Anyway it went like this : 2-0 for Voodoo first, and finally 2-3 for me. Round 1 : Island on the beach. I did a stupid thing in the very first turn : used a rope, dropped a mine to make a worm fly in the water, it worked but my retreat was so lame that on next turn, Voodoo killed two worms. I did mostly bad moves and mistakes, and Voodoo was playing very well, I felt like a voodoo puppet for him (yes, really). He had a bad luck turn when using his 2 cows in the same direction, the 2nd cow should have worked but a barrel exploded and the cow didn't land where expected... it killed one of Voodoo's worms. I had 3 worms gathered (not piled) and Voodoo cleverly used his skunk and made them all sick. With a bit of bad luck, I lost and he had 2 worms left. 1-0 Round 2 : Island I think... I don't remember anything of this round, sorry!!! Anyway Voodoo was playing well and I was a bit unlucky. Maybe Voodoo can fill this blank. I was telling to myself very often "This is a nightmare" while watching Voodoo playing, without thinking of my next move. That may also be why I don't remember a damn thing, I was totally not in the game. Anyway he won easily with 2 or 3 worms left. 2-0 Round 3 : Cave in a brown color scheme. Again, bad moves from me, I wasted several ropes trying to reach a higher place, without any result... Voodoo was doing quite well and I wasn't but somehow he made some mistakes that allowed me to have 4 weak worms against his last 125hp worm. Lots of strategy involved here because the cave had 2 big parts and it needed a rope to get from one to another. Unfortunately for him, he fell on the ground and then I reduced his energy to 65hp by opening a way and commiting suicide with a 2hp worm. He darksided cause now the way was open to him, and I thought very slowly, used my last switch to use a closer worm, used my last rope slowly and had no time left!!! I could have killed him I think but too slow. He was then able to kill the worm I was slow with (24hp) and another worm with 20hp... I was left with a 54hp worm not far from him but unreachable (no rope left), and another 34hp worm that was stuck far away. I wasn't expecting it at all, but sudden death came!! I just had to kamikaze diagonally to get him, I was saved!! Couldn't believe that since I am the one who usually suffers from sudden death in friendlies. It was far from being a true victory, though... 2-1 Round 4 : Cave in the middle age with castles and grass. On this round, I stopped doing stupid mistakes but as usual Voodoo was leading!!! Maybe my mind wasn't clear enough but I didn't understand why. It ended with 1 worm for me, with 61 hp, against 4 worms for Voodoo (16, 42, 98 and 80hp I think). His 2 strongest worms were near water, at the two extremities of a tunnel, but no hole at all. Used my jetpack to place my self right at the center of these 2 worms, dropped my holy and it worked like a charm, they fell in the water, and I did a quite good retreat. I was thinking it was "gg" now... But he didn't have any big weapon left... he chose to shotgun, but it was a tight place and he had to replace himself for second shot, and he fell!!! (bad luck, 31hp left) I had to act very quickly. I rope-knocked his 31hp worm right to water, then roped to the 16hp one and bazooked him. Pfeeeeww... 2-2 Round 5 : Cave in a brown color scheme. Thanks to lucky piling, I was able to kill 3 worms in the first turn only with the bow. Voodoo then used a rope, rope knocked 1 worm to pile 2 worms, he killed them both with the shotgun (nice shot) to dig and make them drown. Unfortunately for him, he made several very big mistakes that were showing as Voodoo said "the rust" on him (indeed he had not been training for ages, but here it was more about being tired that not playing well). I made almost no mistake, in the end I dropped a dynamite on his last 75hp worm, took off only 74hp!!! With 3 worms left near him, I was prepared for a darkside to the other side of the map. He did that, I waited patiently to move my worms to him, I knew he had used his two teleports so he couldn't escape this time. Seems he got a super sheep in a crate, fortunately for me he never used it because he was waiting for the water to rise and for my worms to go on the top. I roped to him quite smoothly (without being nervous since I had 3 ropes) and kamikazed successfully. 2-3 It was a really hard match and I thank Voodoo for being very fair-play for the whole match, despite this timekeeping stuff really pissed me off and kinda made me nervous in the match. In the end of the 2nd round, I wasn't expecting to win anymore... just wanted to fight until the end. Voodoo truly surprised me for someone who's not training. When I don't train I play like a noob, so I applaude you, V. EDIT : I think I figured out why Voodoo was leading in round 4, that's because I had 3 aligned worms on a girder in the first turn and Voodoo piled them and dropped a dynamite... OUCH... EDIT 2 : In round 3, Voodoo didn't exactly fell by himself. He was trying to open a way to one of my worms with a mine. When he tried to pop it, he wasn't fast enough, and therefore was injured by the mine and fell on the ground.

I'm glad to see you to managed to play your game at last, well done Fury comiseradtions Voodoo. To get this far in the tournament means that you both have very high skill levels and I applaud you both, well done! Now for the final, the new boy or the old pro? Only time will tell, is it to be experience over enthusiasm? We will soon find out, I might even win a small amount on my the Fictional Betting :-) Thanks for starting that up Voodoo, it was fun :-) Good luck in the final to Jigsaw & Fury, I'm sure it will be an epic battle.

Third-Place Playoff: MrTPenguin 3-1 Voodoo The first two rounds were both islands, and a hung-over Voodoo made tons of mistakes; I won 'em both . The third round was in a cavern, and Voodoo dominated the upper regions and went on to win, thus preventing a whitewash. The fourth round was another cavern and I had a horrible feeling that it was gonna go 2-2, but I held my composure and won what was the closest round of the match. Good effort later on, Voodoo, but I suspect your mind was on other things, i.e. a bird, lol. My realistic aim for 2004 was to get onto the podium, so I'm chuffed. It's been a great worming year for me, and I'm delighted to be receiving an e-medal (and of course a T-shirt) and to be standing alongside Jigsaw and Fury at the summit of the Mount Olympus of Worms All that now remains is the final itself...
