Yo people you want to arrange friendly matches do it here... Friendly matches real test your skills, make you practice and they allow you to get to know several other wormers which one day may come across your path to victory... I can't be available for play these next weeks because of University exams... But next month I'll return to the world of worms for sure...

I am also available to be contacted for sparring. One of the things I'm most concerned about is the general skill level of the tournament's contestants. I have always thought that the tournament's contestants were quite fearsome (if Zero constantly kicks my ass, and Zero got his ass kicked early in last year's tournament...). However, I would feel much better if I could see for myself first-hand just how good everyone is. Feel free to contact me through this board via private message, and leave a suggested time and date (in GMT). Otherwise, check my profile if you wish to contact me through another medium (I am logged to all 3 instant messengers at once). Important notice: I can't host games in Wormnet! I've narrowed down the cause to several possibilities (mostly related to my router), but for now, I must depend on others hosting for me.

I work long hours, so I won't usually be available for friendlies. However, I have the day off today (Wednesday 22nd), and will be online a lot of the time, so if anyone wants a warm-up game or two, please reply to this message suggesting a time (GMT), or try and contact me on AOL IM (my SN is AdvocatesOfKaos (don't ask))

Although I'm awfuly busy with the exams I'm having I just managed to play a friendly game that ended just a few minutes ago. I started hosting a session and one of the new comers of this year's tournament, the canadian Phartknocker, entered the session. Not only him but a french man by the nick of coco and a fellow portuguese by the nick of CaMaNcHy also entered. I selected Specialist mode (I really like that mode) and we started playing. First round: Well... not much to tell. In the end I won and by the start of second round both CaMaNcHy and coco had quit so now it was me versus Phartknocker. Second round: It was a nervous round... I started pretty well killing 3 of his 4 worms on the first moves... However those kills cost me my roper and left Mark's grenadier with one island just for her... Then we started hitting each other's ass from far range. A very nice session of zookas and grenades. Mark started launching the grenades at me with such skill that I lost my bazookaer and grenadier right away leaving me with my gunner. I started darksiding to escape his grenades's wrath but it was no good because sudden death was way too far so I got out in the open space and Mark took me out. Although I was very poor at my grenade launching I won't dare to say that I would diserve to win that round, cuz' it was totaly Mark's glory round. With one grenadier he won the game (my roper was also killed by his grenadier eralier in the round...) Now onto third round: Although I had the chance to start wasting Mark's team right away I did some mistakes which allowed Mark to have all of his team's Worms against my single roper. But in that exact moment my roper woke up and managed to anihilate Mark's whole team, winning me the game. ;D It was the first time I played Phartknocker in a duel and I say that Mark is a wormer worthy of fighting with. I wish you the best of luck in the tournament games.

Today is a happy day for me. I played a friendly game vs Xaoxitect (yeah, current champion of CWT) and i finally won 2-1. Although I made some mistakes which i hope to fix when the tournament begins hehe. With this post I want to show you (new wormers who are registered in the tournament) that every wormer can be defeated. All you need is play the best you can and LUCKY, obviously. I want to thank to Xaoxitect for the games (he's really good, without doubt). it's a pleasure to play with wormers like him.
See you around wormers!

Out of the people in this Tournament thus far, I have played "normal games" with about half of them. I still need to play Crespo (who needs to see proof that I'm worthy lol) and would like to play any of the people who haven't yet felt the power of the Penguin!

Crespo, I don't think we're going to be able to have a proper practice duel on the off-chance. I'm free on all weekends, on most evenings and occasionally in the afternoon, so would you like to suggest and date and time?
Not long now till the Tournament starts! I'd still like practice duels with, amongst others, Zero and Teletubbies.
Mr T Penguin.

My friendly games have not got off to a great start, I recently lost 2-0 to one of the standout competitors of 2002, Javito. This was the first time I ever played this particular wormer, and Javi has certainly earned my respect. The match was similar to my loss against Teletubbies in the 2002 tourney in that I was beaten by a player who combined consistently strong play with flashes of genius, and very few mistakes. I can now see that I will have to work out a few holes in my game in order to stand a chance of winning in 2003: with standouts such as Crespo, Xaositect, Teletubbies, Bytor and Javito returning, and the arrival of hot newcomers like Konrad, JigsaW, and MrTPenguin, the standard of competition this year will be very high indeed. If you see me online (which is rare these days due to work), feel free to challenge me to a friendly, as I need all the practice I can get against tournament players.
Peace,
UrbanSpaceman

I finaly have time to type here the report of a friendly i made 9 days ago. I found myself fighting with Konrad, one of the strongest new comers of our comunity. On first round I just managed to pull off some one of the worst sequence of bad moves of my most recent worming life. I think I haven't made one single move as i wanted it to be. Of course the winner was found quickly. On second round, I finally managed to balance things and won the round. Third round, well, I was feeling confident having to be the first to play but I soon found myself on a disadvantage. The superb moves of my polish oponnent got me dead when the game ended. My congratulations for the win. Crespo P.S.: I don't feel myself on top form and my feeling for my upcoming games (my first will be this next Saturday) is not good...
