Yesterday I had quite a game against DustedTrooper. Very exciting gae although with some mistakes from both sides. Round 1 » DT had the situation cotrolled he had 3 worms against my last one. I could kill 2 worms but I couldn't deal with DT's last 100 worm. DT, however, made a pasage for my worms to his and I had some guts to decide to waste a rope and the nana (we played pro as my home scheme). My roping was slow and I had to launch the nana in the last second with my worm relatively close. Fortunately, no nana piece camehurting me. Round 2 » I started oing the right moves but DT had god responses and then got a HHG in a crate that helped him even more. I don't blame that HHG though as I also mutilated one of his worms and he tied the game nicely. Round 3 » DT had somewhat of a better placement than me because he placed worms first in a good spot and I had some hazardous placing next to a mine field and bridges. I, however, made the right moves and laucnhed some nice grenades in this round (we were low on stuff bu DT had got earlier 1 or 2 rope crates so he had quite a reasonable amount of movement resources, I had 1 last rope and no more girders or teleports). In the end it came doen to 2 x 2 fight and DT had better placement and sudden death was looming so I needed some real old-school-pro-grenade-launching moves to win this one. I did those grenades so nicely and then DT came out to me when it was I who had the health advantage (due to my successfull nades). DT got a bit nervous when he tried to rope to a crate and then missed the attack to my worms (who were very close). I finished one worm and then again he moved to my zone and tried some last second darside girdering but my finishing kamikae was successfull. great game.

Yesterday I won Dario, but after 1 hour of damn hardass game My performance in CWT was very unsucessuful at the beginning of 2005 season I lost both games to Fantomas and managed to win only Pipinasso. That is why if we count potential points we can see that I needed to win only to have chances to be 2nd in the group and qualify. I had nothing to lose... I lost first round due to nervous start and some silly mistakes. But this made me very angry at myself, and I understood after lost round that I lost self-confidence. It was the principal question for me if I can reverse the game and win next 2 rounds, it was the question of self-esteem, the question if I can manage my nerves and game tension or not. In the second I started feeling better and won it after some mistakes of Dario and very careful game from me. Before the start of last third round I believed in myself and said that I must win and win the last one with a small 1 worm gap but I managed game prccess. But I need to mention that south temperament of Dario worked bad with him. He made some silly mistakes, lost 2 switched and 3 ropes to make a knock, so I feeled releived of completed ALL or NOTHING task

I played against Bytor today, quite some games i must say. We first did his home game: Intermediate. I didn't really put much time into practicing and all the games i played last week were lost hopelessly. However, i guess i did hold my ground in the 'real' thing. I tried to keep up with the grandmaster in killing worms, although i had great difficulty with it. My worms were almost always in a more vulnerable position than his and Bytor really has no mercy when it comes down to killing off helpless worms. So in most cases i ended up darksiding to protect myself, in some cases it didn't work too well and Bytor won, in others i emerged victorious. I blame it on pure luck that i beat him at his homestadium 2-1. There's always a lot of random luck involved in intermediate games and most of the time it comes down to killing worms as fast as possible. I knew Bytor was an expert at this, but still...i won, no explanation for it, just a bit more luck i guess. I knew things were different on my homestadium. I've got a really big amount of experience in Elite games, so i wasn't really too frightened of Bytor here. Nevertheless he took me by total surprise in the first round of the match. His attacks were much more severe than those I've experienced against other players. I guess this has to do with his abilities as a 'normal' player. He went straight for the kill! The second game had a high peek on the right. I knew i had to take this landmark to have a good chance in SD, but i guess he was after the same thing as well. So it ended up pretty much as a king of the hill game. His worms were however quite far apart and i took them out one by one. I managed to take control of the hill by placing a dynamite near two of his 50 worms (and a few of my own as well), next turn i killed them both with a torch. It was a big blow to my worms as well, but i was at a serious advantage now. One worm below, one on the other side of the map. First killed the one below, then waited for the attack of the other. A nice try to kill us all with a kamikaze-dynamite couldn't help Bytor anymore. It was 1-1 again. In the last game of the series i made great use of my darksiding abilities. I just knew my experience would pull me through this one. I kept a 100 guy at bay and slowly killed his worms at range. It didn't quite go fast enough, cause he still had a 60 and a 2 worm left in SD. I waited and waited until the water reached my tunnel. Then i roped out and hid on top of the map near his worms, yet in a pretty safe spot. He axed me. Now i had a 50 against two worms. Things became complicated after all. I aimed up with my shotgun, got his 60 worms which landed nicely, as i planned it, in the water just beside us. A risky and difficult shot but it worked. Now i could just walk onto a girder below me and kill the remaining worm. A nice end of some truly awesome games. Final results: Bytor vs HHC 1-2 (Intermediate) HHC vs Bytor 2-1 (Elite) These were the first games i ever played against Bytor and it was a bit of a shock to me that I beat him after my seemingly disastrous practicing campaign. And i must say, he has definately earned my respect, he's a real tough one! Just Kain and Teletubbies left to play and with a nice 2-0 on the board i'm happy as could be, the first major step towards a playoff spot has been taken.

I started my group games with teletubbies and took a fairly easy 2-0 win in Intermediate. That's when the trouble started. we played Elite as his home scheme and it was a train reck. I had many opportunities to win but blew everything. I killed two of my own worms and did more damage to me then him though to a 0-2 loss. U know the feeling when U are parachuting over water and your hand betrays U and plop. That was one of many mistakes. A real disaster for me.
I then played HHC and I make no excuses I lost fair and square. Towards the end of each round I out numbered him and the darkside prevailed with the exception of 2. In the 3rd game of elite I had two worms, 1 with 60 and another with 7 to his 1 worm with 100. I still had a rope and most of my big weapons. We took pop shots at each other with grenades till sudden death. He roped to a small piece of land above my worm with 7 and placed a guider to block an airstrike. I quickly roped over to his worm and used an ax. I was looking for a quick end and that what I got. After I got his last worm down to 50 the water rose and just covered the land behind me. He pulled out the shot gun and it was all over.
My games with Teletubbies I got a 2-0 win and a 2-0 loss My games with HHC I got a 2-1 loss and a 2-1 loss I will be vary lucky to eaven make the playoffs this year. My only hope is if HHC can take teletubbies at 2-0 in atleast one game. But then there is allways Kain we all have to play yet and he is the big unknown.

Those games were always gonna be crunch games for the group. I think the first HHC victory coupled with TT's elite victory have been harsh blows to Bytor. It will come as no consolation to him to learn that kain is the current Torneo Capote champion

I played fury yesterday. The first round was going well and we both played well. Worms getting killed reguarly as we both kept taking the lead after each others turn. simple shotgun damage and pushs into a hole to sink worms were made. It came down to me remaining on 1 worm and fury being left with 2 and having no select worms so i teleported to the worms that wouldnt of gone next and he teleported his worms near us aswell. I grider blocked the one to stop it and there was a gap that fury tried to send his sheep through and failed killing that worm. I jumped to the other which was teleported close and took the first round of his home scheme. The next round i had some bad placements and with my first turn i had to remove some of my worms off a death bridge lol. This used up most of my worm selects and ropes to attack his which were higher up. Fury took the lead in this round and i was left to darkside. A missed cow didn't aid me prevous to this and he had abit of cr8 luck with a minigun. So with 1 worm left i had to darkside and i knew he had HHG and 1 worm select and another rope. I teleported to the top left of the map and gridered myself in so he couldnt use his hhg and finish me off. He teleported 1 worm below my grider so i uzi'd him thru it and then next turn finish that one off with a shotgun thru the small hole i had made. Things were looking up and he had 1 on 5 hp and another on the other side of the map. He teleported the other one close to the grider again and i blow torched into the land to make sure if he placed a HHG i would be out of its range. Then i used a petrol bomb on the small grider hole where his worm was near and flames were around my grider and the floor near him. I was thinking now life harder for him i could use my remainding cow and with the blast damage do enough to kill him and have the flames make it harder for him to get me (knowing sudden death would occur soon, wanted it on my turn). SD was there but sadly fury had the turn to act on it. One of fury's sank and then we both had a worm on 1 hp. Well i was in the better situation with my hide and the flames about looked like to kill him. it would result in a draw. I was wrong. Fury roped and placed HHG below me and then went down to avoid its blast and got out of the way of flames. Fury said on this 3rd round i had poor placements again and things were going similar to the second round. I had used up my ropes and selects to stop certain deaths and reach fury's worms in higher places. He took the lead again and i was resulted to so more darksiding tactics. Used a grenade to finish some off from a distence and grider blocked the worms i knew that would be next to encourage him to use his last select so i could pile ones on the opposite side of the map. i managed to make it 2 worms on 2 worms after it being about 4 worms on 2. I had also picked up a ss and was moving one of my worms which had the satey of just a hole in a bridge to the top left of the worm but the gap in the grider was enough for fury to win the round when sd struck and put my 2 worms on 1 hp. With him having the turn to act on sudden death again and just shotgun them both. Very good games and curse sd Now i have 8 point and can get a maxium of 11 if i beat fury at my home scheme. I think my chances of a playoff spot are slim and depends on the results in the rest of my group.

Indeed luck has not been with Chicken23 for random placement in the last 2 rounds. And I can say I had luck with sudden death! Usually I never get the critical turn... I had it twice!
A big choice mistake on my last turn in first round... As Jigsaw said, I could have fire punched to get out of this girder and won the round without any trouble!
Chicken23 defended very well in the whole match, his strategy was clearly effective.
I won't have that luck against Salda... but this match opened my eyes and I hope to be more pro with the spaniard.

Salda 1 - 2 fury In my home scheme : intermediate. I've just played Salda and I think this is one of the most exciting games I've ever played. It went like this : draw, fury, Salda, fury. It lasted 1:45!!! An average playoff game before the playoffs in some way. First round in a cave. This was a cave splitted in two. 6 worms from Salda and 1 from me in the left part, 2 of his worms in the right part and 7 for me. Contrary to me, Salda had nice piling possibilities right at the start and he often switched to his worms on the right part to kill me as much as possible (which he did quite effectively). I didn't try very hard with my poor worm on the left and it was killed quite quickly. I didn't rush so much in the right part because I outnumbered him so much... Soon he had used all of his switches and it was time for strategy. While I was busy killing the worms he had on my side of the map, he was trying to make his worms walk in the thin bottom space to reach my side and he often ran out of time to do something (or something well planned). He also tried to torch his way out to my side on the top but it was a hard (ie. time-wasting) place where to walk and jump to reach the opposite side. In the end thanks to the fact he started the round and made some good piling, he was still leading 2v1. I think I had a 38hp worm and he had a 18hp and 72hp worm. I played hide and seek with a teleport. I thought it was gg but no! He didn't have any rope left since he tried to bng with his 72hp worm instead and he missed. I just put myself in a safer place for grenades and inflicted some bazooka damage to his bng worm. He used the other worm to try to bazook me and he removed some hp to my worm... It was time to play hide and seek again to the other side of the map. He had to use LG and it seemed to be faster in the way at the top. As I said it was very hard to walk and jump in here, battle race skills are useful here... and his LG made things even harder and he ran out of time. I roped to his 18hp worm, dropped a grenade and go as far as possible. He couldn't do anything but teleport since he knew I had a rope left. He teleported to my first hide and seek place, placed a girder so well that it prevented me from even reaching him with two shotgun shots. Sudden death was imminent, I didn't want to risk it, I roped next to him and kamikazed. Boy this was quite a round! Second round in another cave. Salda made some early mistakes and I actually played quite well. He made even more mistakes by trying more risky stuff. When I killed his last worm I had 6 worms left and a lot of stuff in my inventory. 0-1. Third round on an island. My strategy was quite well here I think. I spotted the worms in danger, switched to a worm in danger (and killed an enemy worm with it) so that I can put to safety the next worms in the list. Salda made some mistakes in the beginning but it quickly went better for him. I don't know exactly why he's been leading for the whole round, I would have loved to view the replay of this game to understand. Maybe this has to do with the fact he got a minigun and inflicted 96hp damage to a worm but, anyway. He outnumbered me, and roped to my last worm, quite a straightforward round. 1-1. Fourth round in a cave. Quite a lot of bad positions for me here contrary to him (I think I'm paying the luck I had against Chicken23 hehe). I had to use 2 switches and one rope to finally get a bit safer (but far from ideal) positions... Moreover I was having the worst luck ever during my moves. I thought I was doomed. Then there was some crate luck. He got a health crate, and a second jetpack (that he never used though). I got a rope box!!! I don't like crates but I was so pissed off with this bad luck that I didn't hesitate to use them all. I finally had one 100hp worm against one blocked 100hp worm and a 7hp worm. He torched his way out with the 100hp worm but stayed in his tunnel. I teleported in his back and the 7hp worm couldn't do anything (Salda had no switch left and no rope left). He skipped. I uzied his worm to throw him out of the tunnel, inflicting only a poor 28hp damage but I was a bit safer alone and higher than them. I learnt later that he had a second jetpack, I don't know why he didn't use it it then. He used a pigeon (his special weapon) and it hurt me only a bit. I had two ropes left and there was a move that could make me win. I rope knocked his pigeon launcher worm and it landed exactly where I wanted : a thin ground above water. I used my rope to get closer to the 7hp, popped a mine on my way, 8 seconds left, put myself between the two worms, drowned the healthiest worm and took the 4 seconds left to carefully aim the 7hp worm. Wow... Very exciting match. Salda's a great newcomer, and he's very fair-play. Looking forward to our next match now. He's thinking of which scheme to use cause now he's not sure he wants to play intermediate again.

Fantomas 2 - 0 Dario (tournament scheme) A scheme I have never played before, but when I saw the setts, it reminded me the games I used to have with my brother before going into wormnet: few ropes.. and u gt save them for the coming rounds!!!! it was really exciting to play an oficial game like that. Thew first round started almost like any round, I started and used a ashotgun to pile 3 of his worms, thinking there were no worm selects, hehe. I was kinda shocked when he used his first worm select to "de-pile" and rope up a worm to bat one of mine's, so I simply bated one of his after. The game went just shotgun here, shotgun there untill I ended with 2 worms, one with 41 hp standing on the top of a water tank (the scenario was "farm") and he ended with 1 worm with 29 hp. Darkside time!!! he moved to a well hidden place and locked the shortest way in, but leaving a little hole hard to accest and on the edge of the map. I made a really dumb move when i should have used a worm select and put the 41 hp worm away from air strike range, but i didn't, and that costed me taht worm's life. On the next turn I tried to jetpack to the small entrance he left, but I ran out of gas and ended up very close to the water and just with the time enught to put a grider preventing him from killing me. I woudl have kamikazed my way to a tie on the coming turn, but he teleported to the other side of the map. Then its when i thought it would be a very long game, but, he had a super sheep as SW (and i had the holy hand granade i never used). The next round he used his 2 worm selects very early, so I took the chance to darkside him getting a nice advantage, but some how we ended in a situation similar to the previous round. I had to low hp worms and he had one with 25. He killed one of my worms on his turn, using jetpack and landed at an unreachable place for me, so all I could do then was just teleporting away. After a torch the separating us was thin enught to break it with a mine, and he took the initiative. I was soo happy to see that he didn't realize he just gave me the chance to reach him using a shotgun and his own mine!!!, I vacilated for some precious moments, thinking that maybe the shotgun wasn't enught to let me get close enught to activate the mine, but... if I coulnd't win it there, he would break in and kill me. So I jst did it, shotgun shot, activate the mine, walk to him and.... the final 5 secs coundown sound started. OH NO!!!!! with just the time enught, i reached the edge that was above his worm pressed space bar before time expired hoping to reach the correct angle before shotgun finished loading, and I did!!!! but i wasn't far enught from the edge and killing myself, quite a frustrating ending for a move I was so convinced taht would give me that round. VGG fantomas, nice scheme, I'd love to play with you on that scheme again!! so exciting!.

And of course the second game: Dario 2 Fantomas 1 I decided to pick intermediate scheme even though I don't think I have more chances of wining vs Fantomas there, I just feel more comfortable on known ground. My first round wasn't really good and I almost don't remember of it, and I lost it. The second round was a cavern, but a pretty dangerous one. He took advantage from the begining, and after some turns, We both had 6 worms each, but I had around 2/3 the energy he had. I saved all my ropes and I found the chance to make a double kill that would almost even up the things and raise my chances a bit, but... before the knock was finished... plop!! lights out; electricity was gone (the same thing that delayed my game with Normal Pro). Fantomas had the kindness of giving me the chance (as rules state) to start the round again, even though he said (and I belive him) that the knock I was making to get the double kill, failed due to his worm falling on mine's. So he gave me the chance and I took it, this time with Fury (my master) watching the game. Maybe that was the fact that made me play my best, wining the 2 rounds left making almost no mistakes, helped by the fact that Fantomas kinda lost his "touch".

Nice games Dario vS Fantomas and Salda vS Fury!!! And very detailed and excellent reports (damn if I had such memory Well I gotta play with Dario our second game (my Home) very soon and this game as I suppose will determine the second ticket to playoffs in Group D. We both need to win, we both want to win, we both can win but who will - it is an open question... but I am sure it will be a great game, looking forward to such a challenge!
