Ok the 2005 final game recording has been re-encoded and is ready for distribution. The file size is 1.02 Gb and contains only the 4 fully played rounds. If U think relevant I can also get the 2 uncompleted disconnect round ready as well. I will Use my Gmail account for distribution.
The way this will work is I will have to brake the files in to multiple .rar files at 10 Mb a peace.
Gmail gives a storage capacity of 2.5Gb but U can not send single emails with attachments over 10 Mb. I will email the 10 Mb pieces one at a time to myself. This will take some time as I will have to send over 100 individual emails. When ready I will post my Gmail username and password in this form so anyone who wishes can log on as me and download the video. Any of U who have you own Gmail account email me your address to my AOL email address and I will sent to files directly to U.
This is a rather big file because unlike movies, The problem is resolution and bit rate. In order to keep quality up I need to keep the resolution higher then even DVD's, because the action (changing pixels) happens in a small percentage of the screen at a time. Think of how small a worm is in the screen compared to how big the main action is in a movie. It is like having to read a license plate on a car when the camera is focused on an actor crossing the street 1 block in front. The bit rate has to be kept high because of the nature of digital video. Excessive background movements especially when worm uses rope requires a high bit rate to allow all pixels to be refreshed simultaneously. Against my better judgement I encoded the video using a Xvid codec. It provided the best compression ratio for the quality needed.
