As I've already said to some of you, I abandoned the milestone system in its last weeks because so many players were in "special circumstances" that it became practically near-impossible to do so fairly. Today was supposed to be the last day of the group stage, so as of now, I'm gonna start hurrying people up and dealing with them on a more personal basis in order that we get to the knockout stage sooner rather than later. Here's the situation as it stands now (according to my records):
Faster Groups:
Group A: Done.
Group B: RatoonSoft needs to play his last two games.
Group C: SirGorash v Khamski is left (LightSider quit).
Group F: My second game with Philippo needs to be played (Manolo seems to have quit).
Slower Groups:
Group D: Nine games need to be played, six of which involve Voodoo.
Group E: Five games need to be played, four of which involve Vodkoff.
Group G: Six games need to be played, four of which involve HateQuitter.
Group H: Four games need to be played, all involving GeneralHorn. One of these (versus Goku) is in progress, I believe.
A time will come when a line will have to be drawn and anyone who hasn't played all their games - irrespective of their reasons - will simply has been too slow, and the groups will freeze. Let me re-iterate that the group stage cannot go indefinitely!!

Leoric, you know that, we weren´t able to play both games, cause you were 50min late...so, when will we do our 2nd game, hehe, really looking forward after the strange first game....
So, we all have to hurry, I will go on holiday for a week from tuesday on...and I dunno if it´s too late after, from 31th on...I will now connect to msn to reach some guys of you...

Correction for Group H: Goku has already had his 2 points deducted, so he and Gelete have qualified for the knockout stage. Sorry for getting your hopes up, Leoric.

I've emailed the five main players with unplayed games (Voodoo, XWorm, HateQuitter, Johnmir, Vodkoff) urging action. Vodkoff's email bounced - does anyone know what his situation is relating to playing worms?
I haven't thought of a final deadline yet, but I'm confident that it will be less than a month from today.

My idea at the moment is, after 3rd June, to deduct a point for every game from the people who haven't played all their games. This won't include Rafalus, Xworm, Gelete, and GeneralHorn, because their games can't affect their (finished) groups, so it would be pointless. So, if no more games are played, the final standings would be as follows: Group E: Javito (to play Konrad - rematch!) Dvorkin (to play Jigsaw) NormalPro Vodkoff Mielu Group G: Chicken23 (to play David) Dario (to play SirGorash - Argie battle  ) Johnmir HateQuitter Dan HQ is advised to play his Johnmir games BEFORE his Dan ones, as they're more important for the group. |
