I think the first thing we need to do is to see how many players there'll be for 2007. The 8 "seeds" who have reserved spots are:
Dvorkin XWorm (3/4) Johnmir (2) Franpetas Jigsaw (3/4) Rafalus Dario (1) cOOL
(NB, these players don't have to play if they don't want to!)
I propose we have either 6, 7, or 8 groups of 4, and no qualifiers' competition if possible.
Two players who effectively have reserved spots are GeneralHorn and Koras, because they've shown a high level of interest in participating.
I think the primary criterion for choosing players this year should be their activity level - their reliability in playing games and their activity on this board and elsewhere.

Of course , I would be happy to take part again in 2007! Thanks for talking from me in sense of reliability... Btw., some of you know from the NNN Thread, maybe I am the happiest man alive, that CWT 2007 will be played in WA, cause my WWP doesnt work anymore with the new and needed graphic card drivers . Thx. again! *Du bist ein netter und aufrichtiger Pinguin! Hehe .* Greets, Horn.

I've had an idea (which I've already mentioned to Dario) that we could have four CWT spots each reserved for NNN members who've done well in NNN. For example, this year, we could reserve places for the top four people in the NNN ranking. This guarantees good and active players for CWT, and also give extra motivation to NNNers for their NNN games.
Dario says that next year there will be four 3-monthly leagues in NNN - the winners of each of these could win spots for CWT 2008, for example.
So, for CWT 2007, I propose that SirG, Optymus, Koras, and Misirac, have places reserved for them should they want to play (I know that two of them do!) NB, Dario doesn't need a reservation this year because he already has his "seed reservation".

I have jsut arranged with Penguin to set the fixtures of the groups. It is he who will take care of that this year and that should be done soon, me thinks. So keep an eye out for that information.

The Dingo liveth! I'm glad I don't like cricket Ratoon: if you're ambivalent about playing, shall we say that you'll play if we don't have enough players, but won't if we have too many?
