[glow=green,5,0]Oh dear! Just under 4 hours until game time and WormNet is DOWN!
Pinging wormnet2.team17.com [195.89.193.88] with 32 bytes of data:
Request timed out. Request timed out. Request timed out. Request timed out.
Ping statistics for 195.89.193.88: Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 0, Lost = 4 (100% loss),
Of course.. they could be blocking ICMP packets but that doesnt change the fact that I cant connect!
DON'T PANIC! DONT PANNNIIIIIC!!!

[glow=green,5,0]For those of you who were not around for the non-match today;
I phoned team17 to find out what the problem was and blagged my way in with the old 'European Space Agency' card. I spoke to their tech support guy, lets call him Dave. Dave sounded a little stressed but explained to me that Team17's ISP was down becasue they had just 'upgraded' a Cisco backbone to avoid a newly discovered security hole. He told me that they have a second internet connection, an ADSL line, which he could try and hook up for us. I know that this would work but would probably run like a shit with the world trying to use wormnet2 on it. He couldn't give me a fix time as he was in a long queue to their ISP. He said he would give me a call when it was fixed or if he got it working via the ADSL line. If he calls back today I'll send him a bag of ESA goodies:)

[glow=green,5,0]Just to add a bit more..
Dave phoned me back to tell me it was back up a couple of hours ago so it looks like i'll send him a bag of magic ESA goodies. Just in case anyone is interested, here is what he had to say about the problem today; [/glow] [glow=red,5,0] Sorry about the problems, I'm hoping to move the servers to another ISP as we do have occasional problems with this one. I got a call from the ISP just after I talked to you and it looks like they upgraded all their backbone routers but not the managed routers at client sites. [/glow]

Can he make CWT the oficial WWP tournament? I dreamed about this: having somewhere to be said: "SUPPORTED BY TEAM17"

[glow=green,5,0]I've been thinking a bit about possible sponsorship for the CWT of late... How about 'RentoKill' ? Are they international? If you have never heard of them, they are a pest and rodent control company. All it takes is a few letters sent off to companies begging for some sort of sponsorship and I bet at least one will go for it. You wont get cash out of them but you might at least get a trophy or something similar... All it takes is the effort.

LOL, I've got a part-time job in a Fruit & Veg shop, and we use Rentokill; I only found out fairly recently what's in those intriguing little white boxes...
