Hey, as you can see here, the archive is in the works. The Archive will add a lot more to the site than you might expect, including individual statistics, nostalgic moments and so on. However, although I've not been part of the early years of CWT, I know that it has come with a lot of traditions into my hands. People have expressed demands towards the staff and especially me to keep up with the traditions. So now I want to build the archive to follow people's demands. I beg the CWT veterans to share some hints, suggestions or whatever is in your mind, so that I can build an archive that fits the high level of the CWT traditions. I'd appreciate it so much.

Guys, I don't know why this thread gets so less attention. I mean, a good archive would be the core of a great site.
Koras, you are always very intent on traditions, here you can make some constructive suggestions.

Hey guys,
Well, I must say that I have lost trace of the highlights of the latest editions of the tournament. Maybe some replays of the most spectacular games could be available? Also, some comprehensive reviews about the general story of the event would be nice, but not too detailed... Oh, and the final standings of course.
While I can't tell what has been hapenning recently, I'm sure some of you do, and I can provide with previous reviews from the early years if you want, I think I have the old site's files stored somewhere in my computer.
Cheers,
LC

Yes khamski, they will soon be available.
Crespo, thanks for the offer but I have all the website files. You can provide a lot though. Crespo, it would be awesome if you were able to share your experiences. Tell us something about the very old players that most of us don't know (Xaositect, Goku, fury, Simon and so on). Why did you organize the tournament? How did it happen? Also, I don't have any information about the very first torunament in 2002 neither on site nor forum. I'm sure you can tell us a lot. If you have time, it would be very kind of you to do some storytelling.

Koras, you are always very intent on traditions, here you can make some constructive suggestions. I am not that expirienced CWT player, i just would like too see all previous CWT tourneys (with replays) at site We can ask a winner of every CWT (maybe also silver/bronze medalist) about his way to win the tourney.

I played in some of the previous CWT tournies and it would be nice to have the stats which were on the original site hosted by Crespo. Is the archive from those years still avaliable? Hi crespo

Well, Crespos old site just knows one (very) old stat, that was a ranking of all time CWT participants. But he didn't maintained it since 2006 and I doubt it would be represantive nowadays.
Structure of Archive page could be: left columne with CWT'10, CWT'09, CWT'08..
Main Archive Page displays a simple Picture Album (really just an album without any structure, neither links to statistics; there we publish screenshots of old CWT site, Crespos T-Shirts, all trophy pics and winner photos). Above this album, we could write a little text, explaining where CWT comes from, what are our main goals, what does CWT differ from other tourneys, etc.
Because of each single archived CWT tourney, I think, we should focuse on Playoff stage, maybe with attached game replays. Group stage isn't necessary imo. Below tourney tree, we could write a little description about tourneys highlights, or even a comment field, where everybody is allowed to shout his personal CWT story of this year.
I would like to see on "Players" page 4 groups: Participator, All Time Winners, Retired and Referees. Though a player, who is displayed in All Time Winners could be surely displayed in Participator or Retired list at the same time, too. A copy of All Time Winners list could be also displayed at Main Archive page, too.
I think this could be pretty handy and doesn't sounds too difficult to code :-) __________________________ A dream is, to have a personalized statistic later, where is marked, maybe even in a graphic, at how many CWTs a player participated and how far he forwarded. That needs a lot of (programm) creativity and I doubt I can be more detailed, because I just don't know what is possible or not.

I think any game that was played for CWT deserves to be mentioned.

I think you should just include the same pages that were used at the times when these tourneys were played. I'm sure most of these must be available somewhere. All the games and all the stats are subject of great interest, so omitting group stage games isn't the good idea imo.

All games possible to recover should be presented in the archive. Even those that were recorded by screengrabbing sofware. I think it is the most valuable thing in this archive. Games. Watching what moves we did back then.. Reading chats... It will give the pretty much whole picture of CWT history.

In the days before replays and before we moved to WA even, I used to record video of the finals for others to see. At the time I was the only one with a computer fast enough to do it and internet conection fast enough to upload the huge files. I'll have to see if I can find some of the old footage. Funny story One of the earliest games I was on Holliday when the final was to be played. I left at 3 in the morning and drove 2 hours home to watch/record the game only to find Wormnet was down! Game was postponed
