I was just reading through the rules of CWT and was surprised to find that nowhere does it say what room you are supposed to use when playing official games.
My question is: when it's your turn at home, is it up to you to pick which room to use?
I'm asking because as you know, there is one significant difference between the PartyTime and AnythingGoes rooms: ropeknocking. It's not available in PartyTime and a lot of the top gamers are devastatingly good at this.
Perhaps if one were to use PartyTime this could be used to lessen the advantage of the top players?
I personally am definitely not suggesting that I would do this myself - but the thought did occur to me so thought I would clarify...
Would the community see this as a 'cheap trick' or is this commonly used in the official games?
I hasten to say that I firmly believe that most top wormers would still come on top against a lesser opponent even without ropeknocking.

Good point Frosty, it is assumed that all games (even elite if both agree(although I've always played them in Elite channel)) should be played in AG. I never heard of anyone playing their scheme in party time. The rules are not clear on this. I wouldn't mind playing either way as both ways have pros & cons and you just have to adapt your gameplay to suit.

Thanks for clarifying Teletubbies,
So it's one of the unwritten laws of CWT. Fair enough, I will adhere happily.
Now that I've left the cat out of the bag, it could be a good idea to make it offical though? In case of any disputes (god forbid).

I think you're making a mountain out of a molehill, Frosty When the "Elite issue" (ie ag or channel?) was raised, Crespo said that all CWT games should be in AG, although in the group stage the home player can host their games wherever they want to. This is definitely in the "unwritten rule" category.

I tend to agree with Frosty; I think this should make it's way into the official set of rules for next year's CWT.
Unwritten rules are for things like style and 'if your opponent accidentally chooses resign instead of select worm, it would be nice to replay the round'. Such important things as the standard channel should be clearly specified.
Also, if we go for the AG-only rule, I think we should have a download area on the site, where people could find the standard Elite scheme to be used in AG.

After CWT 2005 ends we'll clear these "unwritten thingys".
