I'd like to have your point of view on an issue due to random placement : what do you do with your blocked worms, ie. worms stuck in a usually small place, nowhere to go, no worm to kill?
There are a number of things to do : - use the torcher to get out - switch - shotgun to place the worm in safety - air strike, napalm strike - teleport - special items...?
In a case where the torcher wouldn't help a lot, and air strike is still not available, the worm cannot do anything. I often wonder what I should better do...
1) Skip my turn by teleporting the worm in a good place. This will allow him to be fully able to play next time. However well, no damage is inflicted to the enemy, whereas in the first turns of a round, your objective is obviously to kill as many worms in danger as possible... before they all have time to play!
2) Switch... This is expensive, and anyway you *will* have to play again with that blocked worm some time! However sometimes I don't resist and use a switch, for instance because there is a good opportunity to kill elsewhere in the map...
What's your point? What do YOU do?

If at any stage in a round the turn comes of a trapped worm, I usually work my way down this list:
1. Air attack or skunk or some other offensive move 2. Select another worm 3. Teleport or tunnel 4. Block enemy worm(s) 5. Move the trapped worm to the safest or most useful place available

I start to torch out, tunnels can also be used for skunk attacks, low gravity fire punches, to put opposition worms into the water. Good for sticking a mine at the end of to blow your way out. Also tunnel to water level and launch a homing missile. Shucks am I giving all my secrets away?

Blocked worms are the problem! I hate when your worms are in the cave or soand where there is no way out. What to do? Sometimes air strike works but what about when playing cavern? I stand for self-placement 'caz it make the game depend on yourself not on luck, that's it

My strategy is pretty much the same as the Penguinator's, although I'd like to add that I'm always looking for Kamikaze opportunities when I have trapped/helpless worms. It doesn't always help, but just sometimes you can hit a sly Kamikaze that turns the game around from a position of weakness.
Oh yeah, almost forgot, hey everybody! Just stopping in to let you all know I'm still alive, and hoping to be able to compete in the next tournament, if the Donkey, in His infinite wisdom, chooses to allow it.
