I've thought of a way of numerically measuring how close a normal game was. You take the net total health of the winner's worms at the end of the game, and divide it by 50. This will tell you roughly how many free turns the loser would've needed to draw. For example, if at the end of a round, I win with one worm left with 85 points of health, the "MCF" would be 85/50 = 1.7 A sudden-death cavern-ceiling climax might give rise to an MCF of 0.02, and a noob-bashing session could give rise to a value of ~10
I'm well aware that this overlooks luck, comebacks and all the wild and crazy things that might've happened in the game, but I can't think of anything better.

Nicely done laddie. As far as statistics go, I'de like to propose that after every CWT game the report of the game would contain the information of the total game time elapsed, the amount of damage made and the number of worms killed (data displayed in the awards screen). But once again, stats are only possible if everyone sends them to me.

That would be a hell of a lot of stats for you to get your head round

I don't believe there is an accurate way to measure the turns needed to draw a round. Dividing by 50 only tells U the #of turns needed to kill 1 worm if your opponent was to use the shot gun. As with most good normal players taking 50 damage with a the trusty shot gun only when there are, or u can't see any better alternatives. It does not account for any of a thousand variations like having two worms with 10 or 15 points each at opposite ends of the map. And besides, If statistics were accurate what would be the point of playing the game when U could just do some math to see who wins. If U want stats heres one for U. Yesterday a player came in to a game I hosted. As I usually do I asked "Hi, Are U good?" he seamed to get upset and replies "The Best" and went on to say "I will destroy U"...... I won the game in 5 turns and had all 8 of my worms left. My lowest worm had 58 heath.. Now he was not a Total Newbie just mostly but I don't believe he could have drawn the game in 20 turns! U may be bordering on overanalyzing a fun game P.S. Isnt it hard to read this without looking to the left< LOL

Ah yes this Penguin measurement of the closeness should be hard to be taken into serious consideration, although it doubtlessly interesting.
Ah well those stats wouldn't do nothing more having to type a few more numbers when updating CWT site. I think it's harder to get everyone sending me the data than what's hard for me on updating those stats.

Hmmm, I think good old fashioned reviews are the best way to express how a game went, although the duration of the game and the point-difference at the end are definitely interesting too.

just thought - BZ games are obviously going to be the games with the most damage taken so the stats I would request in a CWT game report is only the total game time elapsed.
