Having read your moving post, Nyctalope, I now sympathise with your decision to pull-out. I wasted a few of my school years too, but I manged to recover in time for the "serious stuff"

Hey guys, I'm now at University studying and no longer accessible through MSN for a while. Just thought I let you all know regarding the topic of drop outs that Bytor has told me that he hasn't seen DustedTrooper in about 7 months. Well, considering that Big B. is perhaps the CWT'er that spends most time on WORMnet that can be quite a fact and that may open a door the next draftee, that being the polish Goku. I will wait until Feb 1st though to make any official thing. Also a wormer who still hasn't reported is the romanian 13 so there's a door open for the draftee #2 (which is the spanish Salda). The last unknown case will be my countryman Tixas, who still hasn't said what he'll do (I don't know about the odds of a 3rd opening). I can easily grab the phone and ask him but I¡¦ll do that around Feb 1st because (again) that's the date when I'll do any official thing relating the CWT 2005 alignment. So to conclude there is a maximum potencial of 3 extra spots, although it's not guaranteed that any of them really opens. Everyone else has known to be available if I'm not mistaken. On a different topic - I'm too lazy to go to the other topic - I just sent a message to mielu to ask for the new domain for CWT. I chose www.worms-cwt.com so soon you will find a message like "We've moved!" on my CWT homepage. See ya all, Crespo P.S.: Curiosity: this topic is by now the biggest one ever in our forum.

Just checked me mail box and there I found a reply from DustedTrooper. Looks like he had some net problems so that's why he was off for so much time. Anyway, he's in and he is now a closed door for the qualifiers, only 13 and Tixas left...

I recently played a russian dude on Wormnet2 called BlackDevil who hosted a "normal no noob" game, and he's very good. I told him about CWT, don't know if he will try to contact Crespo.

I'm not sure what's going on with my attempt to enter. ^^; I fully understand the somewhat time-consuming legend that some call "real life"...

Heya guys, I will pronounce myself on the quittings subject - some of you may find it hard to understand… I do think that almost all of MrTPenguin's thoughts on quittings procedures are correct except for one that I quote: ... 6) During the CWT knockout stage... If the quitting is in the 2nd round, then the highest-ranked non-qualifier from the CWT group stage is the replacement wormer. [Note: see the "note" for #3] If it happens in the quarter-finals or the semi-finals, then the replacement is either the player who the quitter beat in his last game or the highest ranked wormer from the previous stage. Note that this is essentially the same issue as the MBonheur/David one, except this time it's higher up in CWT :-) [As you can see, I'm not sure about this one] ... Every quitter in the CWT playoffs will be replaced either by the wormer that came 3rd (if in 2nd round) or the wormer who lost against him in the previous round. As you might see this contradicts what was my procedure relating the David/MBonheur case. The reason why that hapenned is firstly because the Qualifiers and CWT are diferent competitions in terms of games played and objectives: The Qualifiers playoff is solely one game while in CWT the full knockout path takes 4 games. Considering this fact I do think that the group stage should take the major role in the qualifiers competition because having one game to have the major role may not be statistically advisable. Therefore I used the ranking procedure to solve the quittings cases. As for CWT itself I do think that using a similar procedure in the 2nd round is not correct. Replacing the quitter by the top ranked 3rd placed wormer is quite unfair if you take the fact that wormers who have played in previous editions of CWT tend have more points than new guys. As for a momentaneous ranking made only for this purpose I too think it's not correct because we would put a wormer from a diferent group in the spot wanted by the 3rd placed that didn't make it cuz' of this rank. This was what I did relating the David case but in CWT I do think that each group has it's own competition: it's not about selecting the best wormers for another competition, like in the Qual.: it's 8 small races to the playoffs and if there is someone who fails that race than the one behind the quitter should take advantage. I’m waiting for any constructive criticism on the next days and I’m thinking that it will begin by Feb 20 maybe even 19 but still nothing decided because the terminus of my time consuming exam season is not yet decided. On the subject of new blood 13 still hasn’t reported anything. I’ll ask Bytor if he seen him around lately and if Bytor reports a missing then 13 will have 23 days to say something; if not the polish Goku takes his place.

In my opinion both methods are valid. After all, if you wanna win the CWT all that you need to do is to win all games. Any other kind of reaching higher rounds must be considered to a gift, because if you didn't win previous games, maybe you don't deserve to pass through. Just my opinion

Hi everybody! I have played a lot of times with SirGorash. Some months ago he was usual good wormer. But last month he shows very high skill. I'm not so experianced player as Bytor, Gigsaw or MrP but I can say that this guy is really good. He has a lot of unstandart ideas which are ended by making 2 or 3 frags . So I think it's a good train to play with SirG especially before CWT 2005 starts!

I'm often connected to MSN and I didn't see him for ages... When trained he's almost unbeatable (i'm serious), hope that he will play although he could stop me on second round (opposite group).

I actually find it pretty easy to go on wwp and find a normal pro game, alot of people host normal games and dont mind intermediate 1vs1 There is room for two in each group Chicken The problem with playing with strangers in wwp is that often, it's not a big challenge, of course you can find very good wormers with a bit of chance but you can also waste a lot of time looking for a decent game. Edit: isn't it rather "have to get past me first fury"? ;D
