We got banner ads for Worms 3D today & I was wondering if CWTers played that too?

I bought it the day it came out, and got into it. I liked the missions, but I wasn't too keen on the deathmatches (ie, normal games). When I came back to WWP, the fact that I'd got used to W3D made playing the "good old game" feel a bit strange, and there were things I found difficult, such as jumping. I haven't played W3D since, even though I think it's a fairly good game.
After this year's CWT, I'm probably gonna buy WFUS.

Yes WFUS seems interesting and I think a better starter into 3d worms. The simplified game would make it easier for a noob like me. Then one could always migrate onto the full version of the game if you got to really like it. ;D

worms 4 mayhem is coming out sometime. My brother brought worms3d and hardly played it so gave it to me, Ive hardly played it and its sitting downstairs collecting dust. I didn't really like the feel of it, the extra dimision owned me.

'I tried the demo and hated it'. And that applies to both W3D and WFUS. I gave each of them quite a bit of time, understanding that such a big change couldn't come without issues. But in the end, frustration was all I could feel about those games. I believe the wonderful balance between strategy and skill has been lost, and that they ruined the dynamics of the game. I'm keeping an open mind for Worms 4 though; I'll check it out once a demo is available.

I tried the demo, made some jumps, constantly repositioning the damn camera, and tried to aim some close worm with the bazooka. I missed, and exited the game forever I've never been too keen on 3D games.

w3d sucks, missions (those which I played) were either boring or ridiculous. If I had bought this game I would cry, really.

I like Silent Hill (1,2,3,4) Oh, silent hills are gooood. I tried the worms 3d demo, but I didn't get the idea of the game at all... its like completely different game, and the same feeling that the wwp and w:a provides, was gone. Worms are not ment to be 3d in my opinion

I accidently voted wrong: " I play it regularly", my vote should have been : "I mainly just play WWP & WA" sry for the mistake.
I'm very much into any turn-based strategic game, like Chess, Civilization, and, of course, Worms. I have passion for them ;D
Hey Teletubbies! Did u start ur addiction to Worms all the way from the times of Cannon? I've been just wondering, cuz u r the grand old man of the WormsNet... (and btw such a gentleman also)

w3d missions are sweet jig, i wouldn't know why you dislike them, especially compared to wa/wwp. The graphics are better, the missions have more depth, offer more variation and are pretty challenging as well. Beats the 2d missions by quite a bit i think.
But deathmatch/strategic play is pretty limited, the 3d thing isn't good and i haven't managed to play online yet. But for the rest, it's a pretty nice game.
However, i wouldn't advise buying WFUS, i played the demo and it was fun throwing those new weapons for a few games, but once you've seen them all the game becomes incredibly boring... If you're planning to buy one i would either advise buying w3d for a small price or wait for worms 4 and hope for a better game.

I think originally worms started life on the Commodore Amiga. I've been playing worms since it came out on the PC. Then the worms were made from something like an 8x8 pixel matrix, and looked like the characters in lemmings, we had to wait until Worms2 before they looked like they do today and we could play other wormers on the Internet. I'm not sure what you mean by from the times of Cannon. And thanks for the nice comment in the brackets ;D

Hi Teletubbies! Cannon(s) was the legendary turn-based shooting game of early PC where u and ur opponent (computer or friend) could try to shoot and bomb each other with ur cannons standing on landscape (the map was much like worms outerior map, just much more simple). Ur cannons couln't move, u could just try to aim ur opponent and shoot by pressing space-bar long enough. Wind was also included. It was fun at the time but now we have Worms (to kill)
