This is something of a "hot topic" at the moment, so I'm starting this thread so it can be discussed.
CWT is a WWP tournament. All CWTers have WWP, but not all have WA, and there are many subtle differences between the two games (eg different super sheep, backwards walking, etc. etc.) Because of this, I recommend that all CWT 2006 knockout stage games be played on WWP.
However, WA is basically superior to WWP, and has the treasured game-recording feature. Also, if and when Wormnet2 closes down, we'd need someone to make a wormnet for WWP for CWT to continue there. WA has the direct-IP-gaming feature, and if any programmer out there is gonna make a new wormnet, he'll probably make it for WA and WWP. I therefore think it would be a good idea to move CWT to WA in the long term. The first phase of this could be to allow group games in the next CWT to be played with either WA or WWP.

I'm most likely going to quit cwt again (it's taking too long again!) but if I played I wouldnt like to play on both wa and wwp. It would cause confusion in my preparations. However, I'd support of moving cwt completely to wa, it's generally better and I see no point in staying on wwp. From what I can see more and more players have wa (whole NNN?) and it shouldnt be a problem to get it.
Now if someone is not aware of major differences in gameplay:
- cluster does enormous damage, up to 98 without fd. We could edit intermediate scheme and set cluster power on 1, it would have the same power as wwp cluster with power of 3 stars
- mine and dynamite drops (not from rope) when I played inter on wa and wwp I got it all confused and couldnt drop properly, it sucked
- rope knocking is safe, on wwp there is a risk the chute wont open, on wa you know as you want, just not too hard
Besides that, there are numerous awesome features, I just wanted to point out those things which can create confusion.

Don't forget about shotgun on griders ^^. I am not sure if the different thing is the shotgun or the griders.

Im convinced that it should not take that long as u want Pen, it took less than a month to move from WWP to WA 16/21 NNN members (As far as i know 16 members have WA running). If im not wrong u want to wait till next year to test WA, and possibly move completely into WA later, 2 years? If Crespo and you (or maybe a decisive poll) think that CWT should take WA advantages over the minor differences in gameplay that both games have, i propose this: Mail and post all you can while the current CWT is being played to encourage the entire community to play WA, force next CWT to be played on WA and im sure that if u make enough pressure then not less than 90% will finally play WA. I know since long time ago about the upgrades in WA, i didnt wanted to move before just because CWT was played in WWP, but more and more wormers are moving into WA nowadays and i finally changed my mind too. I dont know, its yours decision, im just telling what i did and wich results i had. Finally, the best in my opinion is to make a poll, a decisive poll: Just WWP, Just WA, Both (With WWP as default in case of no agreement between both players). Just my thoughts

I think that all discussions have little sense without letting WWP players know wich advantages has WA over WWP. The replay featureThis WA feature is what truly makes the difference. Every game that you play is being recorded in a ".WAgame" file. Those files are saved inside "...\User\Games" folder and its size lies around 5kb per game minute, so an usual round of a normal game will take less than 150kb. If you go there and double click one of those files then WA will run and replay that game, you will be able to see the chat screen, quit at any time, change game details like background and worm names as u ussually do. It will be exactly as if u were there as expectator while the game was played. You are able to go in slow motion with "S" key, or set any speed with number keys. Im not sure if it is possible to rewind... Minimize to windows taskbarIn WA it is possible to minimize on every game screen, even while u are playing (not 100% secure anyway). You can minimize the game while u are inside any option screen, wormnet lobby or game setup screen, any screen that is not the game itself by clicking in the bottom of the screen. To minimize while u are in mid-game just press "Esc" and select "minimize to tray". Direct TCP IP playWhen wormnet goes down, you can always check your IP from www.whatismyip.com, tell your friends this IP number and so they will be able to connect to your game in a similar fashion to what they ussually do without the need of any wormnet server. Higher ResolutionsWA supports resolutions above 1024x768. You must change it inside the options menu, selecting the resolution from the resolution listbox (The old way of changing resolution by clicking resolution button is invalid now). Color Maps256 Color maps for online games. This feature is most used by ropers than CWTrs but well is just another WA advantage. Alternative ColorsYou have an alternative set of colors for worm names , and you can achieve transparency in them by pressing (Alt + Del) while you are playing. Offline rope knockingAfter you install the latest patch for WA, inside the main WA folder there is a file called "OfflineRopeKnocking_On.reg", and if u just double click on it you will enable the offline ropeknocking. There are another similar files too. Volume controlDo you like to listen to heavy metal music while playing your favorite game? Well now you can adjust the volume of worms, much to your pleasure (Im starting to sound like a bad salesman) UnOfficial Programs for WAThere are some usefull programs that complement WA. One of them and maybe the most usefull is the snooper, with this program you can enter wormnet1 channels and chat without loading WA first. There is another program to host even if u are behind a missconfigured firewall or router (If this program works then everyone will be able to host in WA) maplecenter.net/wormkit/, also there is a wormnet server and some other small utilities. I Cant say those programs actually work, can someone confirm this? Many other programs are found in www.blamethepixel.com/Better SchemesYou can edit schemes with utilities and select worm, this was a terrible bug in WWP when u changed the ammount of select worms with an scheme editor and when u tried this scheme on worms it doesnt had utilities and/or select worms. Another features...1. You can ignore people while u are inside chat channels by pressing CTRL + Double click over his nickname 2. Inside chat channels u can recall another commands or phrases u wrote before by pressing up and down keys (with the textbox selected), just like the old "DOSKEY" DOS program 3. You can walk backwards by holding down shift key, sometimes usefull to fall facing the wall, to aim. 4 You can put over your worm the "thinking" icon by pressing "T" key 5. I readed somewhere that you can kick someone if you are the host of the game (dont know exactly how to do this) 6. Not a feature but still an advantage of WA over WWP: It requires less PC resources and so it runs faster on older PCs... If i am missing something just let us know.

1. how much does wa weights? (I mean size in megabytes) 2. where can i download it without all that "torrent" stuff? ( believe me most of the people who still dont have wa (like me) just don't like to use programs with strange names ) 3. will it be a full pack game or i'll need to search the net for fixes, patches and upgrades? 4. Yes i am lazy

Gorash is totally right (the first post) Although making a poll might not help as not many people visit forums. Better way would be to mail everyone with the idea of moving to wa and request for a feedback. About wa features - they are numerous. I used to keep up with them but I got lost I might just add that you can walk backwards while holding SHIFT, you can place girders partially in water, you can 'go back' when you select random maps. To learn more you just have to read 'readme' files, I know it's a lot but if you want to know all your advantages...! ;D Ignore works also on wwp I think, on wa it was definitely before the patches. And you cant kick people while the game has already started, it was offered by another, unofficial program.

2 khamski: If you dont want to us Torrent try DC++. I have downloaded WA 1 year ago via this and it was realy fast. Some tip: pick this hubs, they are best: BatMax1, HighShare,Vasteris. CD is in ISO formats and size is over 600mb, my CD haves map pack, scheme pack, some updates but you still need to download the newes from T17 page. It also haves this reg file for offline knocks. GL with it mate and high transfers

It's clear to me that WA ownz WWP as a game, and that the main obstacle to converting CWT to WA is the fact that not all CWTers have it.
I think it would good in WA to be able to chose whether or not to have your game recorded, because it's not good when you play shit and the other player has a replay of your noobishness!

Those who dont have WA are just too lazy to get it. If you state that the next tourney is going to be played on WA only, they will move their asses.

Hi guys!
As some of you know, I really prefer WA...WA was updated several times and is quite better actually....most advantages are mentioned above...
WWP only get some small updates...to be true, WWP was a commercial release only to make some small money.... WA is nearly the same...I bought WWP, too, when it was released, but I was a bit angry about that making money with nearly nothing new....
So, let´s move to WA, but it´s np to me to play CWT games in both games... "private" you will find me in WA all the time...maybe we will do some friendly...
Greets, Horn.

"hatting' is actually much easier on wa, it seems the mine/dyno is less likely to fall from worm's head. So you kind of have more space for it, will take you like 3 games to get used to it. But when you play one game on wa, one on wwp, and again on wa, then it doesnt work
