Let's not hide from the truth: a combination of inactivity from wormers, and moreover perhaps, minimal input from myself and Crespo (due to other commitments), has resulted in CWT slowing down to almost a halt.
I have reassured people several times in the past that the tournament will be completed. Realistically, I can only think of one course of action. Sometime in October, I'll email all the wormers with games to play (from the CWT email account) as well posting here, to find out who's still around/active. There will be a purge of inactive/absent wormers. The last possible games will be played, and then the groups will be frozen, with the usual top 2 going through.
Thereafter, the knockout stage will hopefully run more smoothly, both because the wormers will more likely be active, and because the games will be more desirable to play.
Does this sound okay? Does anyone have any other suggestions?

Penguin's decision should be a good one... I, for myself, will update stuff more regularly if some games come up, since I haven't got anything that hold me back now.

It's time to confront reality. Me and Crespo have both been out of worms for a while now. We can always say "we're busy with other things" blah blah blah, but the truth is we've lost interest in the game and the tournament to a high degree, and have lost the motivation to work on it. I've been kidding myself recently in this regard, and my "October resolution" was an attempt to give myself a kick up the backside to do something. It would've been better to call it the "October irresolution", because that's what it was. Putting the hosts to one side, it's also true that the majority of the wormers have been idle. Less than half have made the effort to arrange games and pester the hosts to do things. These are the losers in this affair... So, what of CWT 2008? I have to admit that the default course of action is to call it off. If, however, someone would like to take it over, that would be great, and I would be willing to help that person(s). Could it be that the tournament has reached the end of its natural lifespan?

I just won't let this tournament die. Even if this particular site gets erased, sooner or later NNN clan will be hosting a tournament similar to this, and I'd love to call it CWT in honor to this.
Anyway I really hope we finish CWT 2007 soon, lets make the last one worthy.

I would support an NNN takeover of CWT, and would be prepared to help with the transition.
