Hello to all former CWT friends!
With Random00, Zemke and my person, a new generation of wormers have overtook the works for current CWT. We want to continue what you have once created. A tournament of a small community, for a good challenge in a friendly atmosphere. Because of we don't want to forget our former wormers and want to follow your original spirits, I ask each of you, who visits this forums after a long break of worms, to let back a sign of your person. Tell us your stories, your best souvenirs of this nonrecurring tournament or just say once "hello".
I think I can speak for the whole community, when I assume, that we are very interested in the origines of CWT.

Hi All,
I started playing in CWT when I was 42 years old. I am now 57 and too old to play in competition.
I started playing Worms before it was an on-line game and the worms were made of only a few pixels.
I am pleased that you have kept my logo on the front page, even after all this time.
I think Worms is the greatest game ever because each game is different.
You are the best Worming community, kept up the good work.
I hope you all have a great tournament in 2010.
Very best wishes.
Pete,
(aka Teletubbies)

Well, I can guess I can say that I never thought the tournament would actually be increasing its popularity throught all these years. I thought that the coming of new players to this 2d world would be less revelant each year, with many superb games coming out that take so many time out the average computer gamer's life. As for me, right now, I am at the archipelago of the Azores involved in a scientific research project and I will do my Masters here. From the creation of this tournament I got many headaches, both regarding the resolution of many problems with players that I had to resolve (or try to) and the games themselves, which I will always remember as the most stressful matches of any game that I have played! In the end of each tournament, at least those that I remembered to have hosted, I think the best wormer won so I usually had the task of an accomplished duty in the end. I also keep in mind the only time where I actually met a player from the tournament. It was the danish Hatequitter, who I met while I was the Zoological Museum of Copenhagen for a small stay (there should be a photo of that somewhere...). I am connected through Facebook to a Worms group and from that I recently heard that there will be a new Worms in 2d soon. I'm looking forward to test it! I trust that the tournament is in good hands as for organization and web management. Perhaps I can get back into this in a couple of years (both playing and hosting)? Meanwhile, I am around peeking. Cheers, Luís Crespo

Worms Reloaded: place your preorder now, people! Glad to be back for this year's tournament. I was horrendously inactive last year - I was at uni with only a Mac, and my Boot Camp Windows installation had internet trouble. I'm all graduated now, so his year, I should be at home with my PC, and perfectly able to play! I look forward to meeting wormers old and new. Great to hear from Pete and Luís! One thing though, Pete - you were 42 at the first CWT and 57 now? You've aged terribly

I already preordered! But only for curiosity! I'm guessing that it will be a disillusion! T17 developers almost completely ignored the reasons why WA is such a big success and, IMO, was a very dunk and arrogant mistake that will not going to give them the desired success.

Hi!
My name is RatoonSoft and i was (yes i was) un pretty good normal player since ... worms1 on amiga !
Then i discover worms2 on PC several years later ...
Then W.A. ! Wow! It was excellent, but the online game will come for me with WWP with my first connection to internet.
I don't know exactly how i found the CrespoTournament, but quickly i wanted to particpate ...
First time in 2002, i'm defeated by teletubbies on 1/4. It was a very good and very pleasant opponent. On 2003 and 2004 the level of every wormers in this competition really increase ... not me ! I remember that my games for the tournament on 2004 were very hard in very though group (Xaositect, Tixas and Darasek)
On 2005 i failed on qualifiers because of a lack of training. 2006 was for me the last year, not enough time to continue to play and some difficulties to find a time windows to made "rendez-vous" with my opponents.
Now i have a "vista" PC, WWP do not work on this fucking machine and i'm very sad ...
But a new hope seem to appear soon for me and many players (older and newer) : Worms Reloaded on Steam ... Wait and see !
These years on CrespoTournament were for me very cool and interesting. I "met" very nice people, playing very good ... Remember Bytor, teletubbies, MrTPenguin, NormalPro, Fury and many others! I'm very happy to see that this community survive and hope back one day ... On WWP or another version of this excellent game (the best game ever for me and believe me i saw and played a very very lot of different video games in my life)
Bye and see you soon !

I pm'ed Xaositect, Goku, Simon & Teletubbies and offered them to have their own accounts at new site. It would be nice for our increasing Archive section to get to know former CWT champs
